Modern therapy blunders with Simon Rinne

from Your Listener · host John Cuturilo

In this episode, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Simon Rinne of Mindful Men. Simon is a registered social worker in Queensland, Australia (and his practice is expanding), who is changing the paradigm of psychotherapy. Simon has lived experience of mental illness and uses this to inform his approach. Instead of forcing his clients to work within the confines of a traditional therapy setting and methodologies, he allows the freedom to choose where and how to conduct appointments. As a result, he brings the humanity in to what was traditionally a rather cold and detached phenomenon. He listens and responds as a real person. Simon also hosts the Mindful Men podcast on which he discusses mental health. We discuss what we believe should change about the psychotherapy paradigms in Australia and what we've found useful in our respective journeys.Learn more about Simon here: https://mindfulmen.com.au/Note: no part of this content should be accepted as giving advice of any kind.
