Monday, June 15 – Visiting a Ft. Worth bar creating a hub for the queer community, and Vital Signs

from NTX Now · host KERA News

"Mind Your Business" is our weekly check-in with a local small business owner. This week, we're taking you inside the Liberty Lounge in Fort Worth. Its owner, Jenna Hill, told us about the evolution of the space Liberty inhabits, her responsibility to her largely LGBTQ clientele, and what she's learned being raised in the queer community. The CDC estimates someone in the U-S has a stroke every 40 seconds and African Americans have the highest rate of stroke. In today’s Vital Signs, Dr. Alla Al-Habib — a neurologist with Texas Health Plano — talks with KERA's Sam Baker. That disparity, she says, is related to public health policies.
