But the king must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire more horses, for the LORD has said, ‘You are never to go back that way again.’ — Deuteronomy 17:16Israel was told they'd never go back to Egypt that way again. The same applies to us spiritually: once you've been delivered from the domain of darkness, don't go back. The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 desired a better country and wouldn't return to what they'd left. Anyone who draws back doesn't please God. No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom.
