Morning — July 20 — John 17:16

from Christ Himself - A Daily Devotional · host Christ Himself Devotional

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. — John 17:16The prophet calls for something deeper than religious performance: rend your heart, not your garments. Tearing clothes was an outward show of repentance that could be faked, but God wants the real thing — a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Don't settle for the appearance of repentance; let God have your heart.
