Pay close attention to your life and to your teaching. Persevere in these things, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you. — 1 Timothy 4:16Paul's warning to Timothy is for all of us: watch your life and doctrine closely. The greatest danger to your soul is not the world out there—it is the sin that still dwells within. Take up the whole armor of God; mortify the flesh by the Spirit. Keep a close watch on your heart, because your spiritual life depends on it. Persevere in these things, for in doing so you will save both yourself and your hearers.
