Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help. — Psalm 22:11David cried out, but read this psalm through Gospel eyes and you'll see another sufferer—the messiah who was utterly forsaken so we'd never be. Jesus quoted this psalm from the cross, taking the full weight of distance from God so we could have his promise: "i will never leave you nor forsake you". When trouble crowds in, he's closer than you think.
