Morning — October 28 — Isaiah 59:16

He saw that there was no man; He was amazed that there was no one to intercede. So His own arm brought salvation, and His own righteousness sustained Him. — Isaiah 59:16Stops us cold: God looked around, saw no one willing or able to intercede for his people, and so he did it himself. No angel, no prophet, no priest could bridge the gap—so the Lord's own arm brought salvation. This is the heart of the Gospel. The Father sent his Son with a body prepared for him, and Jesus laid down his life of his own accord. There is salvation in no one else, and it comes to us free, because Christ became poor so we might be rich.
