Motorsport Needs Rivalries

from Ahead At The Apex Hosted by Josh and Tim

Formula 1 and MotoGP have felt a bit stagnant over the last couple of years. Starting with Formula 1, the Max Verstappen ere, while impressive to watch, felt inevitable because there was no one to challenge him. He was racing against the clock, against the records, and against himself. Similarly MotoGP in 2025 felt much the same, it was inevitable that Marc Marquez was going to win the race, it was just a matter of when. This year, however, we seem to have rivalries everywhere. Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi are building towards an inter-team rivalry, as are George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, fighting for a world championship between themselves. A little further back, it seems Diggia and Acosta may have started something in Le Mans. In this week's episode: MotoGP Roundup: All the bits we missed from Le Mans and Barcelona. Junior Teams: Are junior teams really junior anymore? Rivalries in Motorsport: Some of the best rivalries vs what we have now.
