Moving Forward with Dr. Romanas, Recovery Now with Kim Justus

from A Recovery Now · host Kim Justus

Dr. Maria Romanas knows first-hand what it means to live with a severe brain injury that occurred when she was 18. It took her 29 years to find out how to prevent her permanent cognitive impairments from causing disability in her professional and personal life.  An 8-week program of intensive holistic cognitive rehabilitation trained her to become her own self-therapist. Now with her brain under conscious control, she is thriving and functioning better than she has her whole adult life.  Although she is still working full time as a pathologist, her passion is brain injury recovery. As medical director of GiveBack, she educates survivors and families how to become their own self-therapists. She also educates physicians about chronic TBI and advocates for every survivor to have access to expert cognitive rehabilitation. www.medpagetoday.com/neurology.headtrauma/44084 This show is a gathering placefor anyone seeking recoveryfrom the challenges of life on life's terms.
