My Binge Eating Led Me to an Affair: God Can Make a Valley of Disaster to a Doorway of Hope

As a result of childhood trauma and abuse, I turned to food as my source of control and comfort. Eventually, it matured with me and led me down many dark paths, including a visit to Sin City with the married man with whom I was having a relationship with for nearly 3 years.  During that time in the desert, The Lord spoke tenderly to my heart, just like He did in the redemptive story of the adulterous woman, Gomer, in the Book of Hosea. "So I am going to call her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and I will make the Valley of Trouble a door of hope."  Hosea 2:14-15 He summoned me from darkness and shined His light, but the shame was too much for me to bear and let go of the false idol I came to rely upon for a source of superficial love.  But God. He made the valley of disaster into a doorway of hope. And he wants to do the same for you, sister.  I pray this message blesses you and offers you a message of hope as you seek Him above all else.
