My guest today is Dominic Teichmann! (Episode 183)

In this episode of Let’s Talk Robotics, I am joined by Dr Dominic Teichmann, a Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in robotic surgery at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.Dominic was born in Germany and later moved to the United Kingdom, where he studied Medicine and Surgery at Imperial College London. He completed the majority of his higher medical and surgical training in the UK before being invited to Australia to undertake a Robotic Surgical Fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital under the supervision of Professor Hayne and Associate Professor Brown. Upon completing his fellowship, he was appointed as a Consultant at the same institution.Beyond his clinical practice, Dominic has undertaken humanitarian medical work in Tanzania, Zambia, and Ethiopia through various surgical charities. He is passionate about the continued advancement of robotic surgery, particularly its potential applications in clinical, remote, and space medicine.Outside his medical profession, he enjoys climbing, ski-touring, kitesurfing, and learning to fly — pursuits that reflect his spirit of exploration both inside and outside the operating theatre.
