My Language Jobs - Production Manager and Interpreter

from The Language Worker

A friend of mine worked for a company that organized concerts mainly in Casinos and in the Portuguese Coliseums (Lisbon and Porto) with international artists. They were looking for someone to be an interpreter among all sorts of other things - Booking hotels, booking restaurants, planning events... One of my most important jobs was to be a mediator between both owners of the company because they did not speak each other's language! I was always running around and traveling a lot, but I got to meet interesting people who have been in show business for a long time. I ended up spending a lot of time with the artists because I would be the one picking them up from the airport and, in most cases, it was their first time in Portugal ( I had to do a little bit of tour guiding too).It was nice with Joe Cocker, Joaquín Cortés, Alcione, Ney Mato Grosso... just to name a few.
