There has been a crazy runup in the price of MicroStrategy over the past couple of weeks and I think it is important to look at it through an honest and objective lens. In this podcast, I go over Microstrategy, my thoughts on what is giving it the premium, my personal view, and If I am allocated.
- As Bitcoiners I think it is important that we sometimes take a step back
- What is the purpose of Bitcoin and why are we allocated to it?
- NAV Premium right now is 2.5 times the price of Bitcoin
- This means that Bitcoin price should be well over 200K if it were trading at NAV
- Reasons it is trading well above NAV from my view include the following
- Hype & Speculation
- An area to short-squeeze big institutional money
- Sentiment that it may be included in the S&P 500 or the NASDAQ, bringing a huge flurry of capital
- Norweigan Sovereign Wealth Fund & Other wealth funds allocated to it
- An alternative to the Bitcoin ETF where a Bitcoin maxi is at the helm
- Another option that can be accessed in the masses
- Overall what is my view and am I allocated?
- Yes I have some exposure, but I not remember my keys, not my coins
- The premium is extremely high and it isn’t your own Bitcoin
- It could be a good proxy
- Play scenarios in your head regarding government confiscation
- Do you want to be holding MSTRs shares if Kamala gets elected, hackers attack the honeypot where MSTRs Bitcoin is stored
- Do you want freedom money that you can allocate anywhere in the world?
- Do your research, it may run up to $1000 a share again, or it may pop
- Risk reward, just remember why you are getting into it in the first place
