The SatsMate Stack
by Paul SatsMate
The SatsMate Stack is a show about personal finance for the rugged world. This is where Bitcoin gives you full control over the keys to your money. We’re stuck in a debt-and-credit trap that crowns debtors and screws savers, pushing folks to gamble on stocks just to survive. Enter the Orange Light: Bitcoin. I’ve been in this game for years, made the mistakes, and learned the hard way—SatsMate cuts through the biased noise with a clear-eyed take. This focuses on financial education with a Bitcoin edge, built for anyone ready to break free. From my boots-on-the-ground lessons (El Salvador’s BTC streets, connections made at different conferences, and my decade + experience in the business world), I bridge the old money mess to a future where you call the shots & are in control. Made by a Bitcoiner for the curious, SatsMate is your playbook for financial sovereignty—debt-free, no bullshit.

The War on Physical Media: Why PlayStation’s Move Threatens Ownership
Hey Satsmate Stackers, There is a big push recently on many companies to try to reduce our ability to own physical media. This is all done because they want to create an ecosystem that makes us dependent on a license and permission, rather than ownership and sovereignty. We can't constantly be at the mercy of these companies, especially given how they are out for one thing in the end - bowing to the shareholder, and trying to optimize profits. I'm hopeful we can move back to a world in the future that values ownership, instead of renting in perpetuity. Specifically in this podcast I go over the following: I know this is more of a Finance/Bitcoin channel, but this is important that we are all aware of some events that transpired recentlyThis also does impact all consumers of physical media (physical discs, physical games, physical music, shows, movies, etc.) As consumers we love the convenience of digital, all you have to do is download it - and not hustle out to your local corner store As well, at first it feels really good that you can access endless entertainment for a small subscription - this comes at a tremendous cost in the long runOnce you stop paying, you lose access to everything - absolutely everythingThese companies have more market control when the data is on their platformYou can’t resell digital, you can let a friend borrow digital, there are many different marketplaces for physical but only one for digitalThis is extremely anti consumer, and while it doesn’t feel like anything now, just waitRecently (crazy right before this announcement), Sony announced that they lost the licenses to 551 movies, meaning if you “own” these on their platform, they will disappearYou never owned, and this is a grim warning of the futureChange.Org has a petition that everyone needs to sign (even physical media advocates)As well as we should support a non-profit called “Stop Killing Games” Everything is becoming hyper-digitalized, and I think the day will come when we own nothing and we aren’t happy Licenses that can be revoked, things you say on the platform, a monopolistic storefront, and a corporation that doesn’t have your best interest at heart will significantly take away our freedoms in the futureAlready in COD you can’t say certain words without receiving a several day banWe are living in an Orwellian wet dream, and many don’t see it yetSpeech will be controlled, you will have no ownership, less options, at a higher priceSpeak up and fight now! The Daily Corporate Drudge: Burnout, AI Automation & Why Agency Matters!
Hey SatsMate Stackers, Life and work around us is trying to squeeze more out of us, all to keep the machine running. You don't have to look far to see burnout on many people's faces, and a general sense of overwhelm for many. This all is happening because people often are just trying to go through the motions to make everything happen. We are trying to keep up, and often times it ends up hurting us more in the end. In this podcast, I am going to go over the following: I have been working on my corporate life for going on 12 years nowYoutube/Podcasting/Blogging has been approximately 6I am one of those guys now that goes into the office everyday (woof)I find benefits though, and I’m not saying that because I drank the Kool-Aid - it is actually nice to get outWith AI doing things more efficiently, I see many people twiddling their thumbs in the officeI know this sounds small, but this is bigger than I thinkI work in one of those places with unlimited time off, and people do take unlimited time lolI notice a lot of people come in late, and leave early - the ones who don’t are watching the clockThe long lunches, the long walks, the sitting in car eating lunch - I see it allIn the future I think the norm to work the 8 hour, 5 day work week will become a thing of the past in short orderThere are countless (Full Time Employees), I know that work half days, every Friday off, and they are getting their jobs done just fineThe work doesn’t interest many, and with AI being able to do any computer related thing (most complicated model build, snowflake query, dashboard build, or excel formula - we need to get paid for something elseEvery single function I see in the corporate world get automated, optimized, outsourced, or robotically automatedAccounts PayableSales, Operations, Procurement, Finance, etc. Call centers of courseEverything is colder, leaner and meanerEmployees are pushing back and fighting through quiet quitting, doomscrolling in office, long breaks, and pushing the limits to what they canI enjoy what I do, but in the end - I’m working on myself outside of the job, because I believe agency is going to be the most important thing to have in the futureIn my ability to earn, do things on my terms, and go where I want when I wantIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Is FIFA Killing Football? The Shocking Greed Behind World Cup Prices
Hey SatsMate Stackers, You don't have to look far to see how much greed surrounds the World Cup. It is crazy to think about how something as innocent as a global football festival has now become a multibillion-dollar conglomerate industry. Yes, the games are entertaining, yes, the tensions are high, but now more than ever, you can feel that they are really trying to stretch every opportunity for more money. Whether it is the sponsorships, the dreaded hydration breaks, or something as simple as the seats/beverages, it has gotten out of control! Specifically in this podcast, I go over the following: I’m a huge Futbol fan, and It's something I have really enjoyed watching over the past decadeThis year, my eyes are extra aware of all of the corrupt stuff going on with this game - and what can be done about itDynamic ticket pricingFifa creating artificial scarcity and taking large cuts when buying and selling on the platformMany didn’t receive the tickets they wantedTickets often were going for thousands of dollars, even though when you watch some of these matches, 10-20% of the seats are purely emptyManipulation to get higher prices from people! Greed at the finest - the people's game, a game where you just need a Futbol, is now something that only the elite can see due to neck-snapping prices Large prices on food and drinks - if you are an American, you are used to those $20 beers, but for those who have a weaker currency, it is painful to buy simple concessionsParking, transportation, and everything are expensive. FIFA didn’t subsidize anything at all, even though they could haveThose hydration breaks have gotten seriously annoying, and it is all to get more commercial time, which means more money from sponsors Certain companies couldn’t use their brand at the stadium (like Heinz, for example), cause they didn’t pay. Everything needs to be paid and transacted Sponsors across every wall, and it is being front and center. I think FIFA is thinking about the commercial actors, and less about the supporters, more than ever Just because they are not for-profit is ridiculous. Where is all this money going? $10-50M dollar salaries? Technically, if they pay these high salaries, they can have a $0 profitHuge price gouging at nearby hotels and venues - essentially corporate greed I think the big solution to this is having a challenger to FIFA come upWhen one player gets too big, it is key to get more competition in place to get them in lineWhen their power goes unchecked, they can do anything literally We need less greed-driven exploitation and more of a unified global festivalIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Travel Made Me See the World Differently – And the Business Problems Everywhere
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope your week has been going as well as mine. I have traveled to dozens of countries around the world, and I can say from my experience that my eyes and perspective are much wider now after I have travelled as much as I have. One of my favorite things to do is go to a new country & go on an adventure. I've seen so many positive things going to these beautiful places, and have been inspired by all the people's businesses I have gone to (whether big or small). At a minimum, I have a broadened perspective on the world, and in this podcast, I share much of that. Specifically, I cover the following: I grew up, and my parents showed me most of the United States growing upI never really travelled internationally until I met my now wife I think traveling genuinely has opened my eyes up to the more important things in life, and it often will get us outside of our comfort zonesI’ve been to some of the most fancy high-end places on earth (Switzerland & Como), and some of the poorest places, such as the poorest places in Albania, Remote Mexico & El Salvador I think all humans want that one thing in common: to live a peaceful life away from state interventionWe want to do what we love, potentially raise a family, and secure our future financiallyPeople also want to experience all that life has to offer, as well, this includes eating nice food, dressing well, and being generous to those in needI think travel teaches one compassion to - we all want those things, and whether we are rich or poor, many of us don’t have a bad heart - some were born with bad conditions that they couldn’t escape, or suffer with addiction It is also incredible to see what life could be with tremendous money Discuss the Swiss trips, the mega yachts in Sicily, or what wealth gets you in Como They say a successful business can solve key problemsI think it is so important to open your eyes and see what problems humans universally are facing - not just in the U.S. I think everyone in the world would be much kinder and better off if we travelledDiscuss Hawaii & New Zealand - The best thing you can do is combine your trips Keep exploring, keep seeing how people live, and be generous to others throughout your journey If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Building Wealth with Bitcoin and Real Equity Companies – This is Where My Focus Lies
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope things are going really well for you. I genuinely think the future of making money comes down to owning real businesses, equity in companies and focusing on Bitcoin. I think everything else is noise... If you can focus on these three at all costs in the financial realm, I think you will do very well! Specifically in this podcast I go over the following: It blows my mind why so many companies don’t give employees skin in the game for their companiesIf a company gives you equity, you own a portion of the business and will do everything you can to enhance its valueLeadership in a company, I don’t understand why so many companies don’t offer equityMy stories with equity in companies, and my thoughts: Carvana, Republic, Where I am At Now, and All AboardSkin in the game will make people work longer hours, will make it so they go above and beyond - they want that cut of the pieExamples at SpaceX, Janitors, and lower-level staff getting several hundred dollars, even millionsYou can rarely do this just with a salary, or with a salary + BonusGoing forward, I will do everything I can to negotiate stock-based comp with my positionsI think Bitcoin is the best hard money, but the ultimate lesson is that we need to get into hard assets, as we will get printed awayThe next thing is if you acquire a physical business, be sure to negotiate the equity percentage in your favorAlways, always try to shoot for a percentage of some type - your future will thank youStory of some people that I worked with at CarvanaIf you can in life, try to acquire a decent amount of bitcoin, and pair that with equity in stocks/companies alongside equity in real, tangible businesses (whether that is pressure washing, etc.) Elon became a trillionaire not because he cashed out - and stayed in cash. He became a trillionaire because he took everything he made from PayPal, and recirculated that back into his businessHe went all inThere is a lesson in that - to go all in and bet on yourselfIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Is Sports Betting Hurting Society More Than Helping? Pros and Cons
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are all doing well! In today's podcast I go over if you think sports betting should be legal in the U.S. I think there has been a huge surge in all types of sports betting over the past couple of years, and it has caused many people to lose alot, and alot of these sports books to get very wealthy. Overall, I think sports betting should be allowed because in the free market, we should do as we wish with our hard-earned money, but I think there needs to be resources in place that educate people on the risks of gambling. Specifically, in this podcast, I go over the following: Everywhere you turn, everywhere you look, there are promotions on promotions for sports bettingIt's insane to think about the amount of ads they push, whether it is Bet365, MGM, FanDuel or Draft KingsIs sports betting really good for our society? Is it helping us or hurting us? I recall when I first got into it, there were incredible promotions that I couldn’t pass upThe hook - Free 200 bonus bets when you bet $10, they are getting even better now $350 on FanDuel if you bet 7 days consecutivelyThese companies know what they are doing and will make this backI’m a free market maximalist, so yes, I think they should be allowedI think we need more education on sports betting, because people are losing an arm and a leg on some of these parlays, and the odds of winning are incredibly small The trends are insane: $166 billion wagered in 2025, with billions in tax revenueThe state doesn’t want to stop this gravy train from happeningSeveral million adults in the U.S. have problem gambling Mainly young men are those who get addicted to gambling - almost 50%+We need a society of personal liberty and consumer choiceWe should also self-regulate We can’t let the government in on the regulation because they aren’t interested in helping the problem - they get huge revenues from thisThere are economic gains, significant entertainment, and regulation should occur instead of prohibitionAt the same time, problem gambling resources need to be made available to those in needThey could slow down on the amount of ads at this point; it is getting ridiculousIf you ban something, people will still do that thing but underground (think alcohol in the prohibition days)I think creating these apps, but putting resources in front is keyWe need more free market capitalism, not lessWith this, we need to be aware and help out those in needI place bets once in a while, but I am aware that the probability I will win big is small, and if I bet safely, the wins will be smallerI understand it is addictive too - so in the end you need self-controlIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Why Renting Beats Owning in This Broken Economy
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are all having a great week! We are seeing prices stay elevated, interest rates stay elevated, while the labor market seemingly is strong. Stocks are hitting all-time highs, while many interest rate-sensitive assets like Bitcoin remain muted. In this economy, I can get a much better deal renting than buying. Specifically, in this podcast, I cover the following: In this economy, I think renting is greater than owningI’m paying $2100 or so per month for where I am living, if I put 20% down & had a mortgage, I would be at $3400This delta, I am going very hard and investing, as I know I need to build equity in my futureThat difference between rent & buy can’t just be spent though; it needs to be allocated with a purposeMost things I think we should buy outright, like a car, any electronic device, and things that go into a homeAny experience should be owned & never financed as wellHomes are something that have been propped up way too high, due to institutional investment, and people treating homes as money because the money is brokenRent isn’t always better than owning - but I think it depends on one's situation, homes in the area you are in, how much down payment you have, and what horse you think is the fastestAs many of us know, we never really own our homes - rather, we are perpetually paying taxes, fees, HOA, huge commissions, utilities, and moreDon’t go into buying a home just cause everyone else isTrust me, I don’t like rules - and having a home gives you more freedom - but is an HOA really freedom? Many people who “Own” their home maybe can’t travel as much, or can’t put money into certain activities they valueI think after tax, you need to try to keep it between 15-20% tops, the bankers and everyone say 30-40%, but that just means you are bound and house poorDon’t follow what everyone else does - or you will become just like everyone elseIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. The Blue Collar Boom AI Can't Stop: The Middle Management Layoff Crisis
Hey Satsmate Stackers, It is mind-blowing to see what AI is capable of right now. I know completely non-technical people who have been able to code a website with relative ease. It makes me genuinely happy that there are tools that can help non-technical people create products simply by typing. Everyone's brain works completely differently, and this helps the creative people significantly. In this podcast, I go over the risks of being simply an employee and where there is a decent gap in the market. I know we may not all be cut out for the blue-collar world, but sometimes we just need the right mindset, a bit of money, and a hard work ethic - and we can make a really nice living for ourselves! Specifically, in this podcast, I go over the following: If you aren’t in the top 10% at what you do in the corporate world, there is a risk you could get automated awayX (formerly Twitter) proved you could cut 90% of your workforce and do much betterBlock, Meta, Oracle, Amazon, Cisco, LinkedIn, Dell, and more are all proving it. They can get by just fine without you; they all canWith computer jobs where you just press buttons, answer emails, take calls, sit in a comfy office chair - are you really insulated? From my view, I don’t think this is the best place to be focusing our time & attentionJust because it is cushy and good to you now, where are all these middle management office jobs going in the future? Future organizations will be flatHave you seen what AI can do? What AI can’t automate is things that we need humans to do - which is why blue collar is having a revivalAll these AI companies, or AI automation efforts, depend on us. Without us, they cannot operateThe bureaucracy, and sue from accounting, or Joe from finance, could be automated - but not the operators of the business, or those out in the fieldNursing homes, cleaning businesses, pressure washing, concrete, HVAC, fencing contractors, luxury bathrooms, trash can cleaning business The silver tsunami is here, and a lot of 50-70 year olds are looking to cash outNow is a great opportunity to automate those businesses that barely have a functioning website and accounting systemAI will automate most corporate jobs, especially if you aren’t top-tierIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Give them Bread and Circuses and They Will Never Revolt!
Hey Satsmate Stackers, It is absolutely crazy how many large-scale sports events are occurring all across the Americas recently. It is eery how many distractions we have at this time, when things clearly haven't been going well in the macro economy. In today's podcast, I go over how many circuses and sports events are keeping us distracted, as well as what we may be distracted from. I don't think it is bad to enjoy sports, and enjoy life - as I partake in many of these events and know many successful people that do as well... My main thing is it is important that we do not take our eyes of the prize, and we don't lose sight of what truly makes this country a special place to be. Specifically, in this podcast, I go over the following: This is a famous quote from Juvenal around 100 AD. In the centuries to follow, Rome faced a tremendous declineThere are so many important issues going on right nowInflation, energy prices, food insecurity, war in the Middle East, and famineAt the same time, while there are so many activities that require our full focus and attention, it is being diverted by enormous eventsAll of these circuses/events come right as things are not looking great. This distraction is helping the upper class and eliteHow could we protest or riot, or start a revolution if we are fat, docile, drunk on beer, and sedated with all this entertainment? All these cheap dopamines, you feel like you are engaged, but there is a lack of any real-world follow-throughEasier than ever to have ultra-processed food, algorithmic feeds, and entertainment is dirt cheapWe chase ourselves from distraction to distraction, stating everything is fine, but is it? Is our standard of living improving? Are we making a material change in this world? If you were elite and wanted to stay in your position of power, how would you sedate the masses? There literally is a Nitro Circus on the White House lawn, a huge UFC Fight on the White House Lawn, Endless Futbol matches here in the Americas, and lastly the basketball finalsProtests and riots erupted all across NYC the other day, but not in revolt of how bad things are - rather there team didn’t winThe elites want you pitted against each other, not against themThey will keep delivering these and make us as sedated as possible to avoid the reality of what this country has becomeIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. SpaceX Going Public: Why Insiders Get Rich While Retail Investors Lose
Hey SatsMate Stackers, There often is so much buzz and excitement about companies going public on the NYSE! This buzz and excitement can be a lot of fun, but this hype, not tethered to reality, can lead to excess valuations, euphoria, and people getting in for the wrong reasons. In this podcast, I go over IPOs in general, the SpaceX IPO, and my thoughts. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did! I have lost a lot of money on IPOs in the pastIPOs are exciting; there is so much buzz when these things go publicBoth natural and unnatural buzzMany people I haven’t heard from in years on investing reached out - yellow flagThese roadshows really hype it all up, and get Investment Bankers, Large Investors & the public interestedSome examples of IPOs that have done very well, and some haven’tThe best: UBER, VISA, META, SNOW, AMZN, and more, all 100-7000% returns over timeThe Worst: FIGMA, Pets.com, Groupon, Etoys, all bankrupt or down 70-95% since IPO The lesson here is that so many IPOs do poorly, and some do wellResearch indicates that between 30-40% actually perform well, and 60-70% perform poorly over the long runI think SPACEX will be hyped for a few months, experience most of its drop in the next 12 months, and then over the long run, it may do well, as there are some impactful businesses in the portfolioReasoning: the lockup period for insiders and institutional investorsNASDAQ Situation with SpaceXMany indexes bent the rules to include SpaceX in the index401K investors are buying SpaceX in their retirement, even if they don’t want toIf you are target dated or if you have growth exposure, you will be shortly investing in SpaceXRUSSELL 1000, FTSE, Nasdaq 100, and the VTI (total market) will be buying SpaceXThey adjusted the rules for index inclusion just days before, and I think this may, unfortunately, make your average folk become the new exit liquidity My view on valuationThere are so many great companies out here, and I think, naturally, humans are greedyThe lead underwriters, like JPM, gauge interest and are the ones setting the price. I think SpaceX is genuinely a great company, but they don’t make moneyIf fundamentals matter like in the Intelligent Investor book, it would trade around $20-30 a share, maybe (and even that would be expensive)People are betting on a story, or a narrative to unfold Now, I say never bet against Elon - he goes all in on himself and his companies - and I’ve made a lot investing in Tesla You know what never had an IPO, Bitcoin - every coin is generated with Proof of Work, and was generated by miningThere was no insider allocation - I buy Bitcoin because it is fairer than stocks. Those closest to the money printer, to the elite, bankers, underwriters, etc., are the ones who get ahead with IPO’sIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Is Bitcoin Cooked? Why Has It Stalled Compared to the Stock Market?
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you have all been having a great start to your summer! It is crazy right now to see all these names in tech go up 20, 50-80% in just a matter of days. We are what I believe to be approaching peak euphoria in much of the stock market, and I'm sure many of us in Bitcoin are asking the same question: Why has Bitcoin stalled, or traded sideways during this period? It can be very difficult to see everyone getting massively rich off their trades, but I think there is a reason behind all of this. In this podcast, I discuss my current sentiment on Bitcoin and some of the reasons for neck-snapping returns in the stock market. Specifically, I go over the following: No, I don’t think Bitcoin is cooked, but there is a huge divergence in the stock market and what Bitcoin has doneWhy is Bitcoin this weak right now compared to the stock market? Many people who bought the ETF didn’t really know what it was, and it is the first risk-off thing they will get rid ofLack of conviction amongst many new people entering the spaceThe stock market is getting carried by the top 10% of AI and tech stocks, but bitcoin isn’t an AI playThe community (as mentioned previously) is near all-time lows; people’s conviction isn’t thereA lot of infighting in the community (some examples)Paper exposure is likely at an all-time highI believe we are in a bear market in terms of the bitcoin cycle, so that is contributing to this as wellMany of the top 10% of society are pumping up the stock market, and something has got to snap soonUnsustainable p/e levels, a lot is similar to right before the 1929 crash or the 2007 market crashPeople could be losing faith in it, and price suppression could be occurring with hedge funds, and othersI’m still very bullish right now, given macro uncertainty, future money printing, and the need for a global neutral money to settle trade inI don’t think the dollar or the yuan will be used to settle trade in the future; we will need a global neutral money to do thatDirectionally, I think it is good that it isn’t correlated as much, not ideal for holders like me - but still something that isn’t awfulStocks further have a lot of flows from pensions, indexes, passive investors, and bitcoin doesn’t have this reach as muchIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Why Americans Feel Broke in this "Strong" Economy
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are doing well! It can be seen that gas is remaining elevated, the bond market is uncertain, and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. This is causing consumers to feel increasingly squeezed, and the numbers show it. The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index has hit all-time lows over the past couple of months, a strong indicator that people are not doing well. In this podcast, I go over the following: The Michigan consumer sentiment came in the other day, and we now see an all-time low of 47.9This is literally the lowest reading ever recordedSome perspective is Black Monday crash we saw it in the 60s, .com crash 70s-90s, great financial crisis 55-60, and generally in a healthy economy, you see it in the 90s to 100sWith the latest reading being low, something is very wrong, but what is driving this? It is no surprise that the war in Iran and the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz are causing elevated gas pricesBut further, when gas goes up, so does everything it touches. All supply chains or anybody who uses freight. Grocery prices, parts, pretty much everything go upAutomation & AI is making it so that what used to take 3-5 people to do things, now only takes 1 person overseeing AIWeakness in the labor market due to war & uncertaintyWeakness in the labor market due to AI/AutomationFurther, wages haven’t been keeping pace with the general increase in goods and servicesMost consumers don’t have access to the stock market, and while the stock market is hitting all-time highs, many people on the lower end of the K don’t feel like they are getting wealthierIt is key to get exposure to assets, especially as inflation goes upI think the FED has done a god-awful job ensuring that inflation stays below 2%You can make the case they have done an okay job keeping unemployment low, but is having to work 2-3 jobs really a sign of health in the economy? Many people aren’t working these extra jobs to hustle; they are working them because they have to make ends meetPeople are sick of paying over $100 at the pump, and $4.00 for a potato at the grocery storePeople are sick of being forced back to the office, to do something they were doing remotely just finePeople are sick of paying an arm and a leg for daycare, when their work salary barely covers itPeople are overpaying for things that don’t make sense and aren’t of value anymore. So much in our society is a complete rip-off Discussion of what my coworker said the other day about how he's making more than everEveryone is making more, but we all can see through the illusionThe silver lining is that we are cooking at home more, we are becoming more crafty, more measured with our approach to things, and seeking true intrinsic value in thingsIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. The Death of the Single-Income Family: Money, Roles & Retirement
Hi Satsmate Stackers, In today's day, it is much more common than not to have a dual-income household. Homes are priced this way, and education and even jobs often don't pay enough to support a household anymore. In this podcast, I will go over my thoughts on the dual-income household and how it can benefit the family (or potentially cause headwinds). Specifically, I will go over the following: I grew up with my dad working, and my mom raising my sisters and me at homeThen and especially now, that is extremely difficult and rare to see - due to the cost of everything where it's atThe John Wayne days of society are almost closed, with just a few situations, I see it working outFrom my view, I think the man should try to go out and make as much $ as possibleThe women should try something part-time & remote - enough to contribute a bitAn entire family riding on one income nowadays is extremely risky, and it could hurt in the long runI don’t like how this society is constructed to begin with - I think we should have the option for one income, but the way things are, that's not tenable as much anymoreOverview of my situationOverview of other family situationsThe approach I am going to take Mistakes I have seen (HELOC, Refinancing, not having multiple income sources, buying useless shit, taking on debt, not being tax advantaged). We need to be more adaptive with our approach to retirement, how we earn, and investments we make - or we may be in a situation that ends up hurting us significantly down the roadIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. I Had Bitcoin Conference Tickets But Still Didn’t Go — Here’s Why
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I have been going to Bitcoin conferences for several years now, and at this most recent conference in Vegas, I decided not to go even though I had tickets in hand. My conviction towards Bitcoin is still near all-time highs, but from a cultural standpoint, I think BTC is at all-time lows. I personally didn't want to surround myself with people who are focused on hype, treasury companies, and grifters. Specifically, in this podcast, I go over the specific topics: They’ve gotten old and repetitiveSpeakers are saying the same things over and over, fewer new ideas & more shillsI think David Bailey did really bad things to personally enrich himself, and I don’t want to support thatThe conference is taking more of a corporate suit angle than ever before, that isn’t what btc is aboutI do like the people of Bitcoin, but I have seen different conferences around the world, and I like some of those moreVegas is a shitcoin casino, and a meal for two easily costs $120 I feel like I am getting ripped off at every turn (stories)Many of my favorite speakers are no longer there, and people I look up to are no longer goingThe air is different; it is much more treasury-focused, and much less focused on the core ethos of BitcoinIt drifted heavily once Strategy entered the mix, but concurrently, when the ETFs were approvedThis isn’t to say I won’t attend again, but when I do have the time off, I will prefer going to El Salvador or to Europe insteadWe mustn’t blindly follow people in this space, so many grifters and people with not great intentions are going to these thingsIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. The Government Failed the Free Market - Spirit Airlines Bankruptcy!
Hey Satsmate Stackers, Spirit Airlines just declared it will be winding down operations as of 3 AM last night. While the airline wasn't the most efficient, it did provide the market with something it needed - low-cost fares and many routes across the country. With the failure of this airline, there will be many downstream consequences that will impact you and me. Unfortunately, all of this wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the poor decisions made by government bureaucrats such as the Biden admin and Elizabeth Pocahontas Warren. Specifically, in this podcast, I go over the following: My experience flying Spirit, the cheapest airline - where you get nickel and dimed for everythingI had to fly it a handful of times when I didn’t have a lot to my nameThings weren’t run the best, my story in MiamiBad companies that operate poorly do need to failElizabeth Warren, a corrupt socialist politician, stopped a deal from going through a few years agoJetBlue offered to buy for $3.8B, and everyone voted yes, Biden’s DOJ sued from Pocahontas influence14,000 jobs gone (pilots, flight attendants), don’t even get started on the vendors…A lot can be blamed on the increased prices of fuelNow I am not for the government bailouts; we need to let poorly run companies failWhat I am against is the government's intervention in 2022 of a free market activity that would have occurredJetBlue had the cash, could have expanded its fleet & competed against the big 4Now we have a further consolidation into an oligopolyWhere will all the current spirit customers go now? Fewer routes, fewer competition, the incumbents are very excited for what is happening here - and it will cost all of us moreWe genuinely need more options, more routes, and less intervention, because any further intervention will be bad for consumers and employeesHope everyone lands something new at these carriersIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. AI Moving Faster Than Ever: Claude Cowork, and the Job Displacement Wave!
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are all doing well! AI is moving at lightspeed currently, and Claude CoWork is able to perform countless tasks autonomously that individuals used to perform. The future is moving very fast, and it is key that we learn about these developments as they come, and lean into the change - or we risk losing our livelihoods. In this podcast, I go over what AI can do and the job displacement risks: We have heard so much about AI over the past couple of years, and often it has felt like a glorified search engineEach iteration has made a decent leap forward, some like GPT 5, have felt like a step backCoWork seems to be taking a massive step forward on many important tools we use all the time (like Excel, desktop organization, file management, and running activities while you aren’t there)It can take care of a lot of the boring tasks that we don’t like to do, like taxesFurther, it can help with complicated expense reports, and one can shoot them pretty easilyEmail and inbox management is something it can do as well, saving dozens of hours of our timeReport generation is also something it can do, and this is another white-collar activity that may be replaced in the futureRemote controlling your browserWhat's crazy about this AI is that it can perform many actions on its own, without you there overnightIt is essentially working 24/7, and in the future, I can see this happening even more Leadership will ask themselves at these companies, can AI do this activity, or do we need to hire a headcount for it? Watch the Excel Claude plugin, for example - you don’t need to know any Excel formulas anymoreYou can just type in natural language what you want to see, and the AI will perform all the technical stuff on the back-endThink about this for any job on the computer, any specific software skill can be done by an AI now The future jobs will need a lot of human touchpointsMany hands-on fields in the medical industry will remain insulated (nursing, caregiving, or PT/Therapy)Teachers and leadership-related positions may be safe (albeit reduced to a certain extent)Many lawyer positions, accounting, and software engineering - positions that have a lot of repeatable computer-related tasks are at riskNow it is important to lean into skills that AI can’t replace, and build things now while the monopoly board is still somewhat openDisruption is coming fast with what AI can do, if you don’t believe me - watch the AI Claude CoWork videos for yourselfIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Why is Bitcoin Trading Sideways, While Gold & Silver Are Taking Off?
Hey Satsmate Stackers, It is crazy to see how much gold and silver have been taken off over the past couple of months! Today, I discuss why Bitcoin has been trading sideways over the past couple of months - & my thoughts on why Gold & Silver have been taking off. You don't have to look far to see many moving to risk-off assets to protect themselves. In today's podcast, I discuss the following: You don’t need to look far to see that Bitcoin hasn’t been trading well over the past couple of monthsBitcoin tends to be the first to react when it comes to liquidity entering the system, and usually it moves in degrees of magnitudeWe have seen Silver & Gold be spectacular trades with Gold Flirting with $5000 an Ounce & Silver surpassing $103 an ounceBitcoin for the past 12 months is actually down 16%Biggest reasonsBRICS and foreign nations are starting to move towards neutral reserve money away from TreasuriesWeaponizing the USD was one of the biggest missteps we have taken. People move to what they perceive as a better haven than treasuriesBitcoin has ALWAYS traded risk on. There have been a few cases where it wasn’t correlated, but it has always traded in line with risky tech stocksTrump's backing of bitcoin-related activities is lackluster. He has followed through with some promises, but generally, it has been underwhelmingA lot of fear and uncertainty in the market, many are rotating to the safe trades away from risk (don’t forget bitcoin still has run significantly since Trump won from the $60sGold & Silver taking off can be looked at independently of Bitcoin not doing wellErosion of trust with the U.S. system is at all time highs right nowFear and uncertainty push people towards commoditiesOld school investors, and global demand for Bitcoin still isn’t thereMy view is patience & long term time horizonHave a 3-4 year time horizon, don’t panic buy gold & silver just cause…Don’t sell your bitcoin just causeRemember why you are in these trades to begin withIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Greedflation in the Grocery Aisle: The Decline of Real Food in America
Hey Satsmate Stackers, Over the past several decades, we have been witnessing more and more Americans become food-insecure and food-starved in this country. It all comes down to production, supply, and demand issues, corporate greed, and the corruption in our food supply. Things in this country are more abundant than ever for those who have great means, but are more scarce than ever for those living paycheck to paycheck/ those in a lower class. I think this is something we can fix as a country, and in this podcast today, I will talk about the numerous ways in which our food has been declining in quality: Went to Frys the other day, your layman's grocery storeDiscussion of the steak that was bought (standard sirloin strips) The meat was fake, filled, tasted like it was pumped with water, and very fattyStill, it cost us over $15 for almost a poundLiving in Shrinkflation - Getting Less for the Same Money (9.75 - 7.75) Inflation - Price hike on the respective goodsSkimpflation - using lower quality ingredients and giving the appearance that all is the sameQuality Degradation - I.e. more air in your Cheetos bag, or thinner bread slicesConcentrationflation - Requiring use of more of something (i.e.soap)Package Redesign - Taller and skinnier products, but they can’t fit as much in themDrip Pricing - I.e. paying for your bags when you are at Sprouts, etc.All these things converge to make our food worse, make our dollar stretch less, and lastly enrich shareholder value furtherAll these methods above are meant to enrich shareholder value, leaving you with much lessWe do it with everything to feed our kids, Sodexho, and a very young age, which is corporate slopAs we get older, we do it ourselves with Sysco… Most restaurants end up using the same wholesaler; they just have a slightly different spin on itThe food supply is completely controlled, and we just play alongYou can look at the slop bowl trendYou can look at the fast food trendYou can look at all the stuff going on with Trader Joe's, Listeria, Salmonella, and moreBoars Head, or CampbellsFood deserts are everywhere. We have the most food in the world here, but most of it is junk that keeps us sick, and still Refocusing ourselves on what matters more, and that is buying farm-to-table, going to farmers' markets, supporting local, and opting out of big food altogetherThe nastiest steak I have ever eaten will become a thing of the past if we stick by this.If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. The Great Price Holdout Is Over – Lower Rents, Fees, and Tags to Bring Buyers Back!
Hey SatsMate Stackers, We have seen sales slow significantly across many industries across the country. Whether that is the automobile, tech, or housing industry, all have faced slowdowns before. In this podcast, I explore simple avenues that many companies can take that will stop or reduce the slowdown in sales. Specifically, I cover the following topics: Going on apartment tours in North Scottsdale recently, and certain units have been on the market over 144 daysIncentives, incentives, and more incentives…Why not just drop the prices? 3 Months Free, Buyer Rebates, and free gift cards, or sports ticketsWhy not just drop the prices? Switch 2 inventory not selling, just drop the prices…. Ultimately, often times if things are not selling people should just drop the pricesThis hold out we are seeing in the housing market is because sellers are not willing to drop prices, and buyers are not willing to buy… Who will break first? In a true and free open market, if you drop prices, people will come…Look at Vegas! All the resort fees, parking fees, x, y z feesPeople aren’t going anymore, how can you get people into vegas with all these fees? Get rid of them! America's Extreme Divide: Billionaires and Tent Cities
Hi Satsmate Stackers, Over the past couple of decades, we have seen extreme wealth and homelessness explode. Levels of inequality haven't been this high since the Gilded Age, or since feudal Europe. This great divide is exacerbated by the Federal Reserve's money printer, and corrupt political class, and the concentration of capital with corporations. In this podcast, I go over details of homelessness, the wealthy, and further issues driving the wedge into this divide: Homelessness has increased significantly over the past couple of years (2020 stated around 580K and 2024 771K) - Likely significantly moreAverage net worth of the 1% in 2020 was $32.1M and today it is $39.1MThe middle class has been shrinking significantly, and this number is expected to increase if nothing changesCurrent admin (and even under the previous), a lot of homeless people were displaced and discriminated against… Where do they go? My stories with homelessness, money, food, water, and moreHand up, not hand outNashville, Chicago & Phoenix storiesTo be fair, we are in an extreme case of corporatism & crony capitalism - which is exacerbating the wealth divide in the United States. Wealth inequality levels are at their highest since the Gilded Age in the 1920sAffordable homes are not being built, and it is causing a further divide in our countryBuilders don’t want to build affordable homes, because the margins aren’t as highFurther, Blackstone, private equity companies, and the lack of new buildings are further causing this divideEntry-level jobs are starting to be replaced, due to automation, AI, and further and importantly, outsourcing to other countries with cheaper laborWe need more affordable housing, fewer regulations on building housing, and to de-monetize housing as an assetThis is what bitcoin is aiming to do: demonetize housing, because the money is broken - housing is being treated as moneyTo solve this, we can’t just give handouts; we need free market solutions - and that would be flooding the market with more housing You can’t necessarily blame the rich; they are trying to protect their assets… If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. How Bitcoiners Can Strengthen the Asset in 2026: HODL, Nodes, Conferences, and More!
Hey SatsMate Stackers, I hope the holidays have been treating you well! In 2026, there is a lot we can do to strengthen the asset, and in this podcast, I go over that. It is far too easy to rest on our laurels and wait for numbers to go up - we have got to do more in this new year, and I am confident that by doing each of these, we will help the network significantly in the future! Practice what we preach - I think we need to buy and HODL in self-custody where we can. Our actions need to align with our words, and HODLing in self-custody is paramountRunning a full node - By running a node, we can help with decentralization, security, and help validate. This is one of the core premises of Bitcoin (Take a stance on the knots debate)Use Bitcoin as a Payment Method - Travel to different countries, or here in the U.S.A., look at btcmaps.org . Square rolled out the ability to conduct payments, and we can share the gift of BTC with others, and spend/replace. Go to Bitcoin Conferences - Not just David Bailey’s, but there are plenty of excellent conferences around the world we can go to and get a wide variety of opinions from others. Go to Bitcoin Meetups - Bitcoin meetups are a great way to meet your regular bitcoiners around the area you live in. I think it is a great way to educate, get people in your corner, and network.Support on Geyser/Open Source Work - So many great projects that will help with privacy, lightning improvements, self-custody, education, and circular economies are here and ready to look into! Educate on What Really Matters - What really matters in the end is that we are self-sovereign, moving to a harder money, weed out central intermediary rent seekers, and lastly be able to live in a world without permission to spend as we wish, and save in something that doesn’t melt from usBitcoin Policies in Government - Countless people want to see Bitcoin fail, I think it is important that we continue to push for de minimis-friendly tax laws and ways Be More Involved - Speak more openly about controversial issues in the network, don’t be afraid to call out bad corporations in the ecosystem, and importantly, always try to do things for the betterment of the network/btc - not shareholder interestBe with Families More, Be Based - There are so many great things happening now in this space, I think it's great to show how btc can be great in our lives, and allow us more freedom with our familiesBest Regards, SatsMate StackReferral to Stacker News: Circular economy with bitcoin discussions involved! https://stacker.news/r/SatsMatePrimary Bitcoin Buys Through Strike: The primary place I go to buy Bitcoin. https://invite.strike.me/2MSTYG Secondary Bitcoin Buys Through Fold: A nice exchange w/ rewards & bitcoin buys.https://use.foldapp.com/r/HTFKVY9LFinancial Disclaimer: Nothing stated in this video is a recommendation from SatsMate to buy or sell a particular security or asset class. Does the Bachelors Degree Really Have Any Value Anymore?
Hey Satsmate Stackers, Looking back at the past 12 years of my career, I wonder whether many of the positions around me really require a bachelor's degree. For many people throughout history, they viewed a bachelor's degree was a path to making good money and securing a nice job. Nowadays, that is looking to be less and less the case, and I think that people are thinking instead about joining the trades, starting their own business, or just getting right into the workforce. In this podcast, I discuss the following and why I don't think the bachelor's degree has as much value anymore: Historically, bachelor's degrees have had a very strong value propositionYou go to school, get good grades, an internship, and then position yourself for the workforceNowadays, it is hard to make it make sense, extremely high costs, woke academia, and then youth unemployment for Gen Z stands between 9 & 13%Many have gotten a degree, and even those with excellent universities and solid backgrounds are facing massive difficultiesSupply of Bachelor's degree workers is high, and demand for entry-level work is decreasing due to AIExamples of automation for entry-level jobs with AIAI tools can automate code writing, debugging, and testing - many entry-level junior coders are impactedAI is taking a lot of customer service support, which is often entry-levelData entry, AP, and administrative individuals are being impacted by the waves as wellAsk yourself about offshoring as wellCan your job be done easily by someone overseasMy example working at BP when I was youngerHistorically, these would be some of the safer in a negative environment, as they cost less from a payroll expense standpointMany workers are not bringing in new workers because of macro as wellCompanies should also be careful of optics, many end consumers don’t want to support companies that side with AI over humans…You also want to be sure you can mentor future generations for growth as wellWealth inequality will further exacerbate, and people will try to vote for bad socialist policies (i.e., Momdami) Companies want to see individuals who are well-versed and experienced in AIAI literacy is key for people to advance in the futureThey say AI won’t take your job; rather, someone who knows how to use AI well willIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Klarna, Spotify, Game Pass & Mortgages: Welcome to the Rent-Everything Treadmill
Hey Satsmate Stackers, Today, I am going to talk about how owning nothing and being happy is becoming true for many. In today's day and age, we are financing so much, and at the end of the day, we don't own anything. Whether it is subscribing to ten things, paying your rent/mortgage, or being stuck in a payment doom loop, many are struggling for true ownership of things. In today's podcast, I dive into this in detail. Specifically, I go over the following: A society of renters, where we are perpetually on a subscription modelThinking back, I realized there are many things that I don’t actually ownI’m at the point where I am realizing that after 4 years of paying for Game Pass, I don’t have a single game out of itSame thing with over a decade of Spotify purchasesCloud storageFitness, Food, Entertainment, and rentingEven education, like Udemy or CourseraRealizing you don’t own anything when you cancel is truly sad - and it is something I faced recentlyI wish we moved to a society of ownership, and not perpetual rentingIt's something where if you step back and look at your outlays every month, you start to realize, am I really going to spend 10s of thousands of dollars over my life, to own nothing in the end?I’m realizing it a bit with owning a home (50-Year example), Auto (15-Year Loan Example), and where I’d be if I bought instead of rentedTo be fair, owning a home may not make sense with taxes, maintenance, insurance, and HOAs, where you are perpetually a renter anywaysAs I am 30 and thinking of renting again, I realize if I take out a 30-year mortgage at 30 years old, I will pay it off…If I want to buy 40, I will be 70. I don’t want to be a renter when I am 70/80/90, I want to be able to own my thingKlarna and Afterpay are making it so people don’t feel the full upfront cost of something, and it is very seductive, until you see the big pictureNot owning anything means the winners are the companiesThe shareholders are the winners, the elite are the winners, and the asset holders are the winnersThe average person is the loser, with fleeting hamster wheel enjoymentThere is no way, in my opinion, to be happy being on a hamster wheel, because you can’t chillPeople are striving to own, but they find it hard because they are in a paycheck-to-paycheck hamster wheel cycleIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. The Best Black Friday & Cyber Monday Buys? Investing!
Hi Satsmate Stackers, We are at that time of year when we are filled with consumerism and shopping until we drop. Countless people buy, buy, and buy because it is ingrained in the American way. In today's podcast, I am going to talk about my thoughts on Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and what we can do this time around. Specifically, I discuss the following in detail: We live in a world where we are constantly trying to buy more stuff, but to what end?Story of my Grandpa, and certain people in my family (the junk addiction, the Amazon addiction, and filling the void)If you have so much stuff, what of that really has any value? First grandpa, then parents, and next meWe packed a bunch of stuff in boxes in anticipation of a move12-14 boxes filled with stuff, haven’t used any of it in over a month. If I really can live without it for that long, can’t I live without it for longer…With that, do I really need it at all? Black Friday/Cyber Monday is a psy op to help companies' bottom lines, and further enrich the shareholdersThey raise prices by 30% over the months that follow, and then say Look, 20% discountIf they are slashing prices by 20-30%, they aren’t taking a loss - they still have substantial margins built into everythingThink about previous black Fridays, what do you still use? Try to follow a minimalist path, and reduce your exposure to “stuff”; often, in the long run, it will end up in a landfill, a garage sale, or sold for pennies on the dollarMaybe instead of buying stuff for black Friday, buy stocks in the companies you were about to shop atAt least you are developing the asset-buying mindset instead of the consumer mindsetThink about what you can do to stop falling into the mindset. If you do buy something, then make sure you were going to buy it regardless of black FridayIn tough economic times, pay off debt, earn more money, cut out waste and clutter in your life, and try to be focused on acquiring what really matters (i.e., healthy food, a long-term residence, and timeless things)If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Back to Basics: Society's Fundamental, Spiritual & Financial Reset
Hey Satsmate Stackers, We have drifted far from core values over the past couple of years. In today's podcast, I go over why we should go back to basics. Sometimes, the ways our elders and forefathers did things were the right way, and it was done for a reason. In this podcast, I will go over the following: We’ve almost gone full circle in the feminist movement, women in Canada sleeping with men in exchange for rentEver since we have drifted from hard money, god, and traditional values, we have gotten worseI can argue that the fall of America started in the early 70s, but there have been different periods of the fall What can we do in society to re-orient ourselves in the right direction, and to become better? What led us to drift so far from a basic approach in society? Moving towards a commitment to discipline, religion, and helping one another is what we needIn addition, a return to hard money (gold, silver, and bitcoin)Sometimes the old way is better for a reason; it was put in place because it was rightWe stray as time goes on due to corruption, greed, and incentives"Get married. Have children. Build a legacy. Pass down your values. Pursue the eternal. Seek true joy."I think it would be good if we all admit, we have lost our path in society, and try to re-orientWhatever side of the aisle, we can all agreeThings are getting rough out there (essentially for bottom earners)Shootings, assassinations are ratcheting up big timePolitical divides are wideningCorruption persists, and the weight of the system is becoming untenableWhat a return to the basics will bringBest Regards, SatsMate StackReferral to Stacker News: Circular economy with bitcoin discussions involved! https://stacker.news/r/SatsMatePrimary Bitcoin Buys Through Strike: The primary place I go to buy Bitcoin. https://invite.strike.me/2MSTYG Secondary Bitcoin Buys Through Fold: A nice exchange w/ rewards & bitcoin buys.https://use.foldapp.com/r/HTFKVY9Lhttps://zbd.gg/GalmaDuFria This is my personal QR code. Shocking Truth: Fractured Society Means Overemployment in Dead End Gigs
Hi SatsMate Stackers, I like to look at the life of a famous blue-collar cartoon as a representation of the normal economy back in day. Homer was a blue-collar worker, and was able to buy a nice home and support a 4 person family on this factory job. Now a days, this would be almost impossible to do in most places around the U.S. It just goes to show how far the economy has changed, and in the end people are starting to lean into more gig jobs, and taking several jobs because their main job doesn't pay enough. Specifically in this podcast, I go over the following topics: Discussion of the Simpsons, and Homer’s life ParallelMany young people work side hustles as they can make money on the sideYouth unemployment is soaring to above 15%, Mid twenties is around 8%People who have jobs, can’t find increased wages, many take on several jobsWhen not, they aim for several side hustles to keep upHamsters on a wheel, always working - never getting aheadNot enough time to parent, and grow our society from ground upThey need to work several jobs to keep head above water, not because they are getting rich off of itThis is the new form of slavery, work nonstop, earn small wagesLook at slavery in the 1800s vs todayWe need to return to the Homer Simpson America, where one blue collar salary can support an entire familyHomer now a days looks like an upper middle class person, in reality, America has fallen further from graceUnderemployment, Overemployment, and Gig slavery are not keys to a healthy and successful societyIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. From Fiscal Chains to Freedom: How to Reduce the Drag of Public Outlays
Hi Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are having a great week so far! We don't need to look far to see that we are a nation of debt slavery. In fact, you can see how dire the situation is for yourself at the following link: https://www.usdebtclock.org/. Public spending is out of control, and in this podcast, I discuss ways in which we can reduce the drag of public outlays. Specifically in this podcast, I go over the key important topics: Top Budget Line Items: The Largest 5 are HHS, SSA, Treasury, Defense, and VA. Agriculture, Education, Homeland Security, Transport, and Labor won't help the picture.Political Reality: Trump leaning into cutting rates; anything else will be politically unpopular.Generational Focus: Thinking about millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha.Systemic Injustice: God-awful system: paying 25-30% taxes to wealthy boomers for SS, strapped to 30+ years of debt servitude.Inevitable Collapse: If the system doesn’t work for all, it collapses. It fails youth; they're protesting directly and indirectly.Rising Tensions: Socialism rising; class war—blame unclear. Money, currency, and hope are broken in America.Shutdown Preference: Government shutdown better than current state; frogs boiling in water.Need for Radical Change: System needs to burn—can't kick the can forever. Rip band-aid, Nepal-style, amid waste, fraud, and corruption.Metaphor for Strain: Skinny man (Gen Z/ Z/millennials) lifting elephant (boomers). Untenable.Boomer Accountability: Why did boomers allow this? Society's fabric tears worse; they'll rule fire and ashes.Shutdown Futility: Shutdowns: twice-yearly ritual—headlines, same outcome.Required Reforms: Mass firings, major department closures. Small, limited government is needed, even with big programs. Radical structural change.Call to Action: Rip the band-aid off, face problems, shutdown, massive shift. Country in pieces—boomers don't see it.Silver Lining: Shutdown good: no more piss-poor BLS data. Every cloud has a silver lining. If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Ditch the Rate Cut Hype: Inflation, Bubbles, and the Real Losers
Hey Satsmate Stackers, In our society, we are at a point where rate cuts will help the rich and end up further hurting the poor. In the short term, it may provide a sigh of relief to the poor and middle class, but the asset prices of the rich will continue to melt up, further exacerbating wealth inequality. In today's podcast, I discuss the upcoming interest rate cuts and what they will do to the economy: Over $7 trillion in capital in Money markets will soon need to find a new home with interest rates coming downThe intention of cutting rates is to loosen monetary conditions, and risk of recessionLooking back at previous rate cuts, typically, the economy wasn’t in great shapePeople parroting rate cuts over the past 6-9 months have no clueJust because something is too good for you doesn’t mean it's good for youInflation risk of cutting ratesBubble risk of cutting ratesMalinvestments, running things hotLong end of curve is unable to be controlled, 10-year ticking upWho wins with rate cuts? People who hold assetsThey sell it to the debtors, but they get left further behindFurther exacerbation of wealth inequality, things get worse for the majority of AmericansBubbles may feel great in the short term, but in the long term, many get burned and hurtWe must go through hard now and work towards sustainable growth in the futureEveryone crying for rate cuts will get the opposite of what they want, just like everyone crying for stimmiesFuture inflation relief stimmies coming your way by midtermsWe need to stand up for hard money, freedom, and free market capitalism We can’t keep perpetuating this system that grows the poor and hollows out the middle class If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Finance Moves I Go Against the Grain On!
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are doing well and having a strong start to your week! In today's podcast, I discuss the financial moves that I go against the grain on. Far too often in today's society, it is easy to fall down the path most people go down. I think on occasion, it is okay to go against the current and do things the way you see fit. Specifically, in my podcast today, I go over many things that I don't mind spending more on: Homeownership isn’t the best way to build wealth, and in many cases, renting is betterBuying higher quality, or higher-end food, dental supplies, and waterBuying several pairs of running shoes, reset sessions, and high-end fitness devicesWith many of these things, I ask, how does it serve me? Driving an old Honda, even though I can get much moreThe slowdown of Amazon packagesNot having a sports subscription, maybe going out to watch an event to socializeBuying cleaning supplies, candles, and nice grooming suppliesSpending more $ on nicer clothes, due to quality and how long they lastI don’t max out my 401K purposefully If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. $100K H1B Moat: Shielding US Jobs or Sparking a Global Talent Exodus?
Hey Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are all doing well! We have recently seen some large measures take place on the H1B program here in the U.S. With this, we will see it cost a lot more to tap into global talent, while concurrently aiming to protect U.S. jobs. I think a balanced approach must be assessed, and in this podcast I explore both sides of the argument, and present my thoughts including: There is no surprise over the past couple of decades that top jobs are getting more competitiveBenefits of tapping into global labor means we can get higher-skilled workersCons make it so companies may pass up on local talent in favor of external talentMany say this is a blow to tech, and there will be a brain drain to other countries around the worldI think for a company to hire an H1B, they should prove that they literally couldn’t find anyoneYouth unemployment rate is approaching 10%, and we need to set up a ladder for our own workersMost recent details of this is it is a one time fee of $100K, no annual fees, doesn’t apply to renewals, only net newsI think it is important to protect American jobs, but I don’t know if this is the right routeThe right route is to make it so American workers are the best, and invest in educationMany trump supporters in tech, like Musk or Thiel, won’t like thisI think the stance will tend to soften over time, as the job situation is much more dire than just thisCreating walls and giving people the boot will not help this economyWe need to restore the free markets to their full potential, and get rid of corporate interests and NGOs at the government levelIf an extreme stance were to take shape, companies would move where the best talent isRemember the extent companies will take to dive into loopholes, the U.S. doesn’t have jurisdiction in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, or those other countriesIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Stagflation & Unemployment - The Fed is Between a Rock and a Hard Place!
Hey Satsmate Stackers, With all that is going on in the economy, the Federal Reserve is caught between a rock and a hard place. Currently, we are seeing unemployment tick higher, inflation tick higher, and rates start to come back down (short-term rates). In this podcast, I discuss how the FED is stuck between a rock and a hard place. We will see the situation further unravel as the months go on - but in the end, it is important to protect yourself with hard assets! We are starting to see the labor market cool significantly We all know the data is cooked, but Expectations in August were 75K, and only 22K jobs were addedCurrently, we are at about a 4.3% unemployment rate, and it keeps ticking upKey thing to note is the downward revisions of 911K fewer jobs created from April 24 to March 25Most of the jobs now are coming from the health care sector due to aging demographicsLayoffs surged to 85,979, up from 62,075 in July, and this is starting to make its way into the dataInflation is also on the rise, and it appears the FED has given up on the 2% inflation targetSome could be due to tariffs, but also increased input costsInflation is much higher than the 3.1% from my view, and if we cut rates, it will get worseProtect yourself with gold, silver, and most importantly, bitcoinCash and money market account yields will drop significantly soon, and where do you think all that money will go? Do you think your yearly wages will go up by the real inflation rate of 10-15%/year?How about the FED’s independence? Is it really smart to lower rates, despite inflation going higher? We know the FED isn’t independent, now is the time to protect yourselves with hard assetsCurrency will continue to debase, and dollar dominance will perish, the fiat experiment is starting to accelerate to the endIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. The Tradeoff by Offloading our Thinking to AI
Hi Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are doing well! In today's podcast, I discuss the tradeoff of outsourcing our thinking in today's day and age. We give up the most important thing possible: our critical thinking skills. We must use our minds, and not just hand over our thinking to an AI. Specifically in this podcast, I discuss the following important topics: Humanity is progressing quickly, and with this comes huge benefits and some badThink about today when you are trying to do simple mathOr think about how you can get from one place to another nowadaysCan you do so without technology and typing it in? For many of us, noAI will help us advance, but in doing so, many of us will outsource our thinking to itIf you don’t use it, you lose it. Think about languages, or with older people walkingAI is already capable of so much, and this is the worst it will ever beI think it is important that we don’t use it for every little thingWe need to keep our brains sharp, and do things without it sometimesFuturistic movies like Wall-E or Idiocracy paint a dystopic (albeit funny)Ask yourself, as a society, do we want to progress in intelligence, or get worse? I think what we should do is use our own brains for everythingIf in the end we really can’t figure it out, then we leverage AIDon’t give all the difficulty to the AI, or else we will potentially lose problem-solving and complex reasoningThe future is exciting, we need to lean into this tech, but use it as a copilot, not a pilotIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment. Charlie Kirk’s Fight: A Life That Shaped a Nation For the Better
Hi Satsmate Stackers, I hope you are doing well! This podcast is a little different from other ones that I have made. In this podcast, I talk about some of my views on what happened with Charlie Kirk a few days ago & the positive impact he has made on our country as a whole. Specifically, I cover the following: It's been a while, and this is a little different oneIt is important, I believe, to let his legacy live on and encourage open discussionsHe accomplished so much in his life at such an early age, a few days older than I amHis death shook me to the soul, and to this moment, I am still in shockThis was more than an attack on Charlie; this was an attack on free speechOur country is more divided and polarized than ever, and I think violence is what people resort to when they cannot have open discourse or can’t win an argumentThis is the third incident in the past few daysWhat am I doing to take action to speak to what is righteous and fair in this world? Donating to TP USAStrengthening my faithNow more than ever, speaking up for what is rightNot sugar coatingVolunteering/offering support where I can to this community. If a student considers volunteering at these chapters as wellNow is a time where we must continue to fight for what is right, for his legacy, and push our country in a better directionIt’s already getting worse by the day, and we are still new to this experimentBe there for families, loved ones, friends, and show your support. It is a turning point, and we need to take action! If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Will Rate Cuts Save or Sink America’s Economy?
Hey Satsmate Stackers, You don't have to look far to see that inflation is starting to heat up, and we are now at a point in the economy where a rate cut is likely to occur in September. With this, we need to ask ourselves: will a rate cut further cause inflation to spiral out of control, or will we start to see the economy recover in a healthy way? Specifically, in this podcast, I go over important topics such as the following: Trump is pushing for rate cuts over the past couple of months, as he wants markets to pumpWhile this can be a short-term sugar high, in the long term, this could cause long-term damage to the U.S. Inflation is well above the target rate of 2% (almost 3%), and unemployment remains pretty low (stated rate of 4.1%) Powell needs to remain strong and not bend under the will of Trump As much as I hate the FED, it needs to remain fully independent of the marketsLong-term erosion of trust in the dollar and wages in our economy will happen if we see cutsYes, the cost of borrowing will go down, but where will the prices of houses go?How about all assets? Stocks, bitcoin, everything will rocketThose without assets will get further divided, separating the rich from the poor even furtherSo many short-term high-preference people are calling for a rate cut, but have we considered where this could lead? Now imagine several rate cuts, paired with money printing, paired with passing of $4T bills, and further cuts on regulationThis market will go parabolic and unhingedBitcoin will protect us from this, but is this best for society?Okay, you could make a bunch of money, but will society be functioning well in a situation like this?We need to assess whether we should give so much power to politicians and the Federal Reserve - and we need to opt into an independent monetary asset - bitcoinIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. What Drives Destructive Habits in the Youth of America Today?
Hey Satsmate Stackers, We are seeing a growing number of young people become increasingly disillusioned about their future as time goes on. Many of the youth today are turning to drugs, alcohol, dopamine addictions, and more. In this podcast, I discuss my thoughts on what drives the destructive habits of young people in America today, while also addressing potential solutions. You don’t have to look far to see that our youth has done many things that can be considered destructiveMany of the youth are doing things to fill the void that are harmful to themselves in the long runAlcohol, Marijuana, Vaping, and PornographyGambling, Binge Drinking, Substance Abuse, and Social Media AddictionAddiction to screens, video games, and electronics seems to be getting more extreme as time goes onFor many youth, they see the cost as everything, the lack of opportunities, and many think I will just devolveWhy work 50 hours a week, to not even get a fraction of what my parents/grandparents' generation had? Many even go as far as to have an existential nihilism, and just give up all altogetherI think many give up and devolve because they don’t see a way upHow can we fix this? I think we need better education, cheaper education, and more hands-on training at an earlier ageWe need people not to take the prescribed path that others have pushed onto usThe freedom to choose alternate jobs, reject traditional ways that have been pushed on usYoung people need hope, and some engage with these habits because of a lack of hope for the future or faith in themselvesWe need more religion, more third places, and more constructive uplifting habitsMore opportunities to learn, to grow, without paying an arm and a legIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Unmasking the Economy: Decoding the Truth Behind the Numbers
Hey Satsmate Stackers, So much is happening in the economy right now, and as many have seen recently, the job numbers are not looking too hot. We have seen inflation on the rise, several months of misstated job numbers, and the Fed's decisions based on this faulty and inaccurate data. In times like this, I think it is key to understand we can still come out ahead, but we need to call it out and act smart. Specifically, in this podcast, I cover the following topics: The past several years, Americans have been gaslit on the true economic data In 2021 and 2022, they stated it was a 9% inflation rate, when everyone can see that wasn’t trueFor the democratic re-election in 2024, we saw the same thing - puffed up numbers to help the democratsJust recently, job numbers came out stating enormous downward revisions in the labor numbers (closer to 18,000 & 14,000 instead of 140,000 and 120,000Recently, they said inflation is coming back down to 2%, but when you go to the grocery store, everything seems 20-30% higherTrump recently fired the head of the BLS, but this isn’t enoughIf all the decisions over the past couple of years are made on faulty dataAnd everything you see isn’t trueWhat can we do?Everything seems to be a lie, or fabricated to perpetuate this crumbling systemThe system is crumbling from within. The Federal Reserve is doing a building renovation at 3.1B dollars, an absolute disgrace given the current state of the economyThe White House is building a several-hundred-million-dollar $ ballroom, and people are starvingWith all numbers being fake, and the system further falling into darkness, what can we do?Study the time chain that is Bitcoin, as it can be audited every 10 minutesYou will never be able to audit the Federal Reserve, but you can always audit thisDon’t trust, verify. Beyond Bitcoin's Price: Why Deeper Value Matters, Plus My Forecast!
Hey SatsMate Stackers, I hope you are all doing well! Wow, it is crazy to see the price get to the levels that it has so far this year. It feels great, but this podcast is my suggestion on becoming more based in our reasons on why we are getting into Bitcoin. I think many of us that are in it for the price, are out of it for the price just as quickly. I think this is why, we must buy this asset for deeper reasons than just the fiat price. Specifically, in this podcast I go over the following important topics: My least favorite podcasts and videos are price predictionsPeople get into the asset for the wrong reasonsMost of our fiat struggles come from the high time preference behavior of always focusing on self-enrichmentWe get into things we don’t understand, can’t handle the volatility, and end up losing a lotIf you are into it for as shallow a reason as the price goes up, the first thing you will do when it goes down is sell You will miss out on the window to truly accumulateThe true money is found beyond the shallow and into the deepLots of institutions, companies, countries, and individuals are stacking more than everEven large governments, cities, and states are assessing allocating a percentage of this asset to their balance sheetThe current price is about $119K, and depending on tariffs, war, debt issuance, and weakness in the dollarI think Bitcoin may hit up to $220-250K K pending things get worse with our debtDuring the upcoming bear market, I think the lows will be between 70 and 80K, worst case$100K is probably the new bear market low in my opinionAgain, nobody holds the crystal ball; this is just my viewThe key thing to do is to focus on deeper reasons that price, that is, what will get you to accumulate more than mostIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Buying Back Your Time with Bitcoin
Hey SatsMate Stackers, Many of us may sometimes feel like there isn't enough time to get ahead. To make ends meet, sometimes we must sacrifice our free time to make extra money. Unfortunately, this trap can end up being never-ending, and we cannot get our time back. In this podcast, I go over many things that we can do as individuals to buy back our time. Specifically, I cover the following key topics: Many of us are on a treadmill where we consistently need to work We are almost forced to consistently earn promotions, moving up the ladder, because of fiat debasementWhen I started my job, I bought 1 bonus, x, 1 year later, it purchased y, and now it buys zSo, Bitcoin fortunately inverts the fiat monetary systemImagine a future if you love art, you can sell a few paintings a year and earn a livingOr a future where you don’t need to work 3 jobs to make ends meet and pay rentA future where you can set aside $50 USD, and it has a more than neutral outcome of hitting 500K in 5-10 yearsYou can chase your passions, and not consistently sell your soul for the fiat hamster race many of us are inI know some people who need to work 7 days a week to pay for their lifestyle (albeit nice)Further, people I know sell their souls for 5 hours a day with long commutes, just to make ends meetOthers work a few hours a day, and have plenty to live a nice life, the way you want. What would you choose?I think 70% of us would choose the few hours a day to live life how we wantBuy back your time, with the time chainIt is called a time chain for many reasons, but the way I see it is that the money can’t debase your time and limited life energyFor that reason alone, it is pricelessIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Maintaining Success Despite Never-ending Pitfalls
Hey Satsmate Crew, I hope you are doing well! This podcast is a little bit different, and it goes over many of the pitfalls that successful people encounter. People work relentlessly to build an excellent career, and some can manage to get to the theoretical "top", just to end up fumbling it a few years later. In today's podcast, I go over a few of such cases, and why it is important to remain based, and keep a clean history: Not all people are fortunate enough to become successful Many famous crypto influencers (like Bitboy, Lark Davis, SBF, Do Kwonand many others)Furthermore, it happens in the traditional world as well, with people like Salt BaeOther examples are Kevin Spacey, Lance Armstrong, and Sammy SosaOr even Jared from SubwaySome of us are fortunate to climb to the top, but we need to ensure we do it the right wayAll the above examples did make it to success, but they fell on their sword with greed, trying to maintain success (despite being past prime), or they had a skeleton in their pastAs bitcoiners, we often say - stay humble and stack satsPut in that proof of work, and the results will comeI think the foundation we build needs to be on concrete, steel, and titaniumMany people want to get rich quickly, but what foundation are you building on then?Maybe you can fool people for a year, maybe 2, or maybe even 5 - but eventually things come full circle Focus on building and doing things properly… It could take longer, but the results will be better If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. From Zurich to Prague: My Take on Europe and Bitcoin
Hey Everyone, I just recently got back from a several-week trip across Europe (Switzerland, Germany, and the Czech Republic). Through my travels, I experienced many things that I would like to share with you, both good and bad. My Journey Through Bitcoin Vegas and Bitcoin Prague!
Hey SatsMate Stackers, I hope you are all doing well! For the past several weeks, I traveled to several Bitcoin conferences. In this podcast, I go over both conferences and share some of my final thoughts. Specifically, I go over the following: Attended Bitcoin Vegas and Bitcoin Prague over the past month.Conferences are key for networking, connecting with Bitcoin enthusiasts, and getting firsthand industry insights.Bitcoin Vegas:Mixed experience: fiat-heavy, expensive, and some shady #*@#coiners.Navigated the right circles, had fun, and made it worthwhile.Highlight: Ross’s incredible speech and meeting leaders at side events.Least favorite compared to Miami and Nashville; rated 6/10.Bitcoin Prague:Standout event: intimate, focused on genuine networking, fewer scams. Some salesy booths, but the Primal booth was fun; enjoyed Czech pints while watching speakers or on the patio.Affordable food trucks; the only downside was the slightly remote location.Rated 9/10.Final Thoughts:Bitcoin maxis should try international conferences like Prague over mainstream BTC events.Hesitant to attend another conference soon, but would likely choose one abroad for a better experience. If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. AI, and Skill Pivoting: The Future of Work Is Changing Fast!
Hey Satsmate Stackers, We are currently going through a huge shift in how we work as a society. Robotics and AI is automating many of the tasks that we used to spend hours doing. Bite into Bitcoin: Steak 'n Shake's New Payment Play!
Hey SatsMate Stackers, Today is an enormous day in Bitcoin, as for the first time, the medium of exchange narrative is playing out in front of our very eyes in the U.S! For the longest time, many naysayers would say I can't pay for this or that with Bitcoin, but now you can! In today's podcast, I go over the following topics and why this is such an exciting day in Bitcoin! One of the most exciting developments is happening with Bitcoin, and I’m thrilled to see progress on the medium of exchange front.Over the past few years, many countries have developed circular economies using Bitcoin.Notable examples include Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador (El Zonte).Other examples include Lugano, Bitcoin Jungle, and Bitcoin Beach Brazil (see the Federation of Bitcoin Circular Economies: https://fbce.io/btc-circular-economies-1).In the U.S., a major issue has been businesses’ reluctance to accept Bitcoin. This reluctance stems from a lack of infrastructure, limited knowledge, unclear regulations, and tax implications. Many Bitcoin enthusiasts have advocated for its use, but widespread adoption has been slow. It’s a classic chicken-and-egg problem, but things are finally changing!Steak ‘n Shake announced a few days ago that they will begin accepting Bitcoin starting May 16, 2025.With approximately 400 locations, the brand serves over 100 million customers annually. This is a significant milestone for the U.S., as many believe Bitcoin’s store-of-value narrative is well-established, and now the medium-of-exchange narrative is gaining traction. In two weeks, we plan to visit a Steak ‘n Shake and record our experience for you.A key question is whether they will convert the Bitcoin to cash or hold it as Bitcoin. We expect more businesses to follow suit in the coming months as America emerges as the Bitcoin capital of the world!Spend and replace, everyone—let the sats flow!If you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Status Sickness: The Cost of Impressing Others
Hey Satsmate Stackers, We've fallen into the dangerous trap of trying to impress others at the expense of our financial freedom and mental well-being. Modern consumer culture has trained us to believe that our worth is tied to the brands we wear, the cars we drive, and the experiences we share on social media. Specifically, in this podcast I go over the following topics: • Designer handbags often begin in sweatshops before receiving final touches in Italy to earn the "Made in Italy" label• Over-the-top parties thrown for social media content rather than genuine celebration drain resources better used elsewhere• Exclusive memberships, country clubs, and luxury gyms often provide little value beyond status signaling• Luxury cars come with higher insurance, maintenance costs, and anxiety about damage• Financing concert tickets and constantly upgrading technology keeps consumers trapped on the hamster wheel• High time preference behavior feels good momentarily but leads to long-term regret• Purchasing luxury items places "golden handcuffs" on yourself, restricting future freedomIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like or comment. Bitcoin and Liberty: Investing in What Matters to You
Hey Satsmate Stackers, Many gatekeepers are at the epicenter of finance and control the avenues we can invest in. While many of them may say their job is to protect us, this can also hurt our long-term gains. In this podcast, I discuss the freedom to invest as you choose and why Bitcoin is an important component of liberty in investment. In the end, centralized control will try to stop us, but we must speak up so more options can open up for us in investing! Traditional retirement investing, like Vanguard’s approach, offers a 3% employer match but sacrifices higher rates of return by limiting access to innovative assets.Arizona’s Senate Bill 1025 highlights the state retirement system’s veto of Bitcoin investments, stifling progressive financial opportunities.Ironically, Arizona’s retirement system holds significant shares in MicroStrategy (MSTR), a company with substantial Bitcoin investments. Many prominent Democrats consistently oppose forward-thinking assets, resisting financial innovation. Why do policymakers block such investments? The question demands scrutiny. The defensive argument cites risk, yet diversification is essential, as seen in the FTX collapse impacting Ontario’s Pension Fund.Caution is critical for pensions and retirement accounts—people’s lifelong savings—but overly restrictive policies hinder growth.Individuals should have the autonomy to invest in Bitcoin if they choose.Investments in gold, silver, and other commodities should also be permitted without exception.Bitcoin, as a forward-thinking asset, deserves inclusion in diversified portfolios.Policymakers who fail to understand Bitcoin’s potential risk are undermining Arizona’s wealth and its retirement system.Rejecting innovative assets limits opportunities for financial growth and resilience.Cutting-edge investment strategies are essential to safeguard and enhance the financial future of individuals and institutions.I always appreciate all the support you guys give me on this podcast, Please feel free to share it around or click one of the links below for your support! Bitcoin-Powered Loans: My Take
Hi Satsmate Stackers, The financialization of Bitcoin is well underway, and with this comes many positive developments, but I also want to point out many concerns. Several products are starting to hit the market that offer one cash if you post your bitcoin as collateral. It is important to keep in mind that this may seem good on the onset, but often there can be risks associated with debt-based products. In today's podcast, I go over Bitcoin-powered loans, my thoughts on them, and lastly, the pros and the cons. Specifically, I discuss the following points: Bitcoin’s Financialization Phase: We’re witnessing the rapid financialization of Bitcoin, transforming it into a cornerstone of crypto lending markets.Rise of Bitcoin Lending Products: For better or worse, Bitcoin-based lending platforms are proliferating, with new products launching frequently.Key Players in Bitcoin Lending: Platforms like Coinbase, Lendn, Aave, and Strike offer Bitcoin lending services, with many more expected in the next few years.High Volatility Risks: Bitcoin’s extreme price volatility poses a significant threat—if the price drops below a certain threshold and you can’t add more collateral, you risk losing your Bitcoin.Custodial Concerns: With many platforms, you don’t hold your private keys, raising questions about security and control.1:1 Bitcoin Backing Uncertainty: It’s unclear whether these platforms hold Bitcoin reserves on a 1:1 basis, adding another layer of risk.High Interest Rates: The steep interest rates on Bitcoin loans are a major drawback, making borrowing costly.Benefits of Bitcoin Lending: Despite the risks, Bitcoin lending offers compelling advantages. No Credit Checks, Fast Access: Bitcoin loans require only collateral, making them quick and accessible without credit checks.Tax Advantages: Borrowing against Bitcoin may avoid taxable events, as you don’t need to sell your assets.HODL Strategy Upside: By not selling your Bitcoin, you can retain potential gains if Bitcoin’s price surges, aligning with the HODL strategy.I always appreciate all the support you guys give me on this podcast, Please feel free to share it around or click one of the links below for your support! Blank Checks and Bitcoin Bets - The SPAC Experience
Hi Satsmate Stackers, Over the past 5 years, we have seen countless SPACs rise, as it is an alternative way to raise capital. These are one of the many ways to bring a company public, and it is important to be aware of the risks before shelling out your hard earned cash on these investments. In todays podcast, I will go over the following: SPACs are blank-check companies that facilitate private companies going public if the deal aligns.Institutional capital often backs SPACs, with sponsors typically holding large stakes they sell post-launch.I’ve participated in SPACs like SPCE, DKNG, CCIV, Nikola, and Folds. Most SPACs I’ve seen end 70–80% down, causing significant capital erosion, though they offer an easier path to going public. After these experiences, I’ll avoid investing in SPACs for the next decade.SPACs involve complex financial engineering and risks not present in traditional investments.Key questions include: How many insiders hold shares, and how much? How much dilution occurs post-IPO? What’s the company’s valuation after going public?Other critical factors: What are the asset’s end-to-end fundamentals? What’s the multiple to NAV (Net Asset Value)? These questions are vital before investing in a SPAC, but hype often overshadows due diligence, leaving many investors burned.21 Capital could benefit Bitcoin by optimizing Bitcoin per share and developing Bitcoin financial products and lending models.Led by Jack Mallers and backed by SoftBank and Cantor Equity Partners, 21 Capital seems promising but isn’t ideal for retail investors who can buy spot Bitcoin at fair value for cold storage.I always appreciate all the support you guys give me on this podcast, Please feel free to share it around or click one of the links below for your support! Grocery Budget Crunch: The Rise of Buy Now, Pay Later for Household Essentials
Hey Satsmate Stackers, We are seeing a rise in people using buy now, pay later for everyday essentials. With the significant increase in inflation, interest rates, unemployment, and potential tariffs, households are feeling more squeezed than ever. Many consumers are starting to realize they don't have anywhere else to turn, and are starting to finance everyday things such as fast food, groceries, or even concert tickets. This is normalizing a bad behavior, and will further stretch consumers who are already facing pressure. In today's podcast, I go over the following topics and discuss my opinion: Many recognize that the wealthy are growing richer while the poor face increasing financial strain in today’s economy.LendingTree reports that approximately 25% of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) transactions are used for grocery purchases.Consumers are financing essentials like bread, milk, and eggs, a trend that harms the medium- and long-term health of the economy. From my perspective, if you can’t afford to pay for something in cash two to three times over, you can’t truly afford it.Rising inflation is pushing consumers to their limits, leading many to finance necessities like tomatoes, milk, and eggs—an outrageous development. While BNPL installments may appear small, the broader issue is far more concerning.Society is normalizing the financing of necessities such as water, food, gas, and utilities.Historically, loans were reserved for significant purchases like land or cars; now, you can finance something as trivial as a Chipotle burrito.High inflation, elevated interest rates, concerns about tariffs, and a tightening job market signal a potential recession and increased reliance on BNPL.Shockingly, 60% of Coachella attendees financed their tickets with as little as $50 down for a concert.Everyone listening to this podcast should prioritize building an emergency fund and avoid BNPL tools. Many believe they can outsmart or optimize the system, but the best financial strategy is to pay in full, avoiding fees, interest, and the burden of debt.I always appreciate all the support you guys give me on this podcast, Please feel free to share it around or click one of the links below for your support! A Nation of Gamblers: People Lost on Hope
Hey SatsMate Stackers, We have seen a pretty large uptick in the amount of gambling amongst our population over the past couple of years. As times get tough, many turn to gambling as it can offer a glimmer of hope, where often it seems like there is no way to get ahead. In today's podcast, I go over the following important topics as they relate to where our society is today and how gambling has increased. Specifically, I cover the following topics: In the U.S. and other developed nations, widespread hopelessness pushes many toward gambling as a desperate bid for financial salvationIn 2024, roughly 50% of Americans visited casinos, driving slot machine revenue past $2.8 billion, a clear sign of gambling’s growing gripSlot machines favor the house with a steep edge, making them a risky choice for those hoping to win bigWith scarce or low-paying jobs plaguing society, it’s understandable why many turn to gambling’s vice-filled allure for reliefScratch-off tickets, nearly as popular as slots, drew 43% of Americans in 2024, chasing instant winsGambling delivers a quick dopamine hit, enticing players with the false promise of easy, life-changing wealthGambling offers a faint hope for those enduring economic hardship and social disadvantageThose facing greater societal challenges gamble more, often seeing it as a path to a better lifeThe saying “gambling is a tax on the poor” rings true, exploiting the most vulnerableGambling thrives in a fracturing society, feeding on the despair of the hopelessThankfully, accessible education and resources now help people grasp the true odds of gambling, fostering informed choicesI always appreciate all the support you guys give me on this podcast, Please feel free to share it around or click one of the links below for your support! ABOUT THIS SHOW
The SatsMate Stack is a show about personal finance for the rugged world.
