मयि ते, तेषु चाप्यहम्

कदाचित् नारदः श्रीकृष्णमन्दिरम् अगच्छत् । 'भगवान् पूजां करोति । कृपया प्रतीक्षताम्' इत्यवदत् सेवकः । 'यं त्रैलोक्यं पूजयति, सः श्रीकृष्णः कं वा पूजयेत्?’ इति नारदः अचिन्तयत् । नारदेन अनुरोधे कृते श्रीकृष्णः तं पूजागृहम् अनयत् । एकस्यां लघुतमायां सुवर्णमञ्जूषायाम् अविद्यत अल्पमात्रं मृत्तिका । ये साधुपुरुषाः श्रीकृष्णस्य साहाय्यम् अकुर्वन् तेषां चरणधूलिं मञ्जूषायां संस्थाप्य पूजयति कृष्णः इति ज्ञातवान् नारदः । (“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)Once, Narada went to Krishna’s temple. The attendant said, “The Lord is performing worship, please wait.” Narada wondered, “Krishna, whom the three worlds worship, whom could He be worshiping?” At Narada’s request, Krishna led him into the shrine. There, in a small golden casket, was a little dust. Narada learned that Krishna was worshiping the dust of the feet of those noble souls who had helped Him. It was the sacred foot dust of His devotees that Krishna honored.
