Natasha's Gems: Send love to yourself

from Wealth and Wellness University · host Jacent

What do you get when you infuse an educator with a marketer’s mindset? You get a community growth-hacker of the likes of Natasha Stovall.  Natasha is obsessed with blending the principles of marketing and educational theories to create learning campaigns to dismantle the equity barriers and poverty cycles that exist in marginalized communities. Formally trained as an educator, Natasha expanded her reach beyond the classroom to break the stigmas related to returning citizens, special education, and mental illness while increasing access to high-quality supports and programs.  To date, Natasha has reached more than 40,000 people across the Washington-DC Metropolitan Area through 10 regional marketing campaigns, 250 community outreach events, and by facilitating family-focused workshops for more than 400 organizations. In her current work, Natasha oversees the training and coaching of teams across eight states for high-stakes evaluations of publicly funded education programs. Natasha’s current racial equity coaching work includes leading a racial equity cohort of early childhood education program leaders across Michigan and Illinois and supporting the development of a classroom racial equity assessment tool that is being piloted in three states. Natasha also served the Commonwealth of Virginia as Miss Black Virginia USA 2013.  It was through her experience in pageantry where Natasha discovered her passion for coaching and mentoring on a larger scale.  That discovery has allowed Natasha the honor of mentoring and coaching over 100 women across the nation.   As an expansion of this effort, Natasha is launching a scholarship foundation for rising leaders in 2021. Natasha earned both her MSEd in Elementary Education PK-6 and B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Elementary Education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
