NATJOINTS says three people have been arrested for allegedly attempting to circumvent accreditation and security measures at the 46th SADC Summit in Durban. Two Congolese nationals were arrested after allegedly using another person’s accreditation to access the summit venue. They face charges including fraud and impersonation. A Zimbabwean national was also arrested for allegedly attempting to obtain accreditation by claiming to be a performing artist. The suspect faces a charge of being illegally in South Africa. NATJOINTS warns that the misuse, sharing or falsification of accreditation will not be tolerated.It says security measures remain firmly in place, while lawful protests will be respected, but violence, intimidation and attempts to breach restricted areas will face the full might of the law.
