According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the transportation sector accounts for 29% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the United States, with 57% of these emissions coming directly from personal vehicles. The layout of our country was designed for the convenience of passenger vehicles, yet these passenger vehicles are a major driver of climate change. In this episode, we discuss strategies for removing personal vehicles from the road and replacing them with efficient forms of public transit that meet the objectives of the triple bottom line of sustainability: convenient for society, friendly to the environment, and affordable.
