NBP44: The Marketing Quiz and Online Business with Josh Haynam

from MAKING SENSE OF THE CHAOS by Future Forward Hub · host Sashka Regina Hanna

In today's episode we talk about a place for creating beautiful and engaging quizzes that generate email leads. New ways to connect with customers and build trust with them. TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS PODCAST EPISODE: Engaging with audiences without actually 'being there' Be aware of what the client wants How to come up with quiz ideas Get more email subscribers without spending money JOSH HAYNAM SAID: Even with a template, you need to be in touch with people to find out how it actually applies to their business. Understanding your client on a really deep level. "I've become THE quiz guy, I've seen more quizzes than anyone on earth right now." The word 'interact' is what you do with the quiz. There are a lot of ruthless people in business today in order to have success, but, I would love to change that perception by showing kindness and still be an authentic person. A quiz is the perfect tool for coaches because it allows you to engage potential customers, segment them into appropriate groups, and follow up in a personalized way automatically. "When you identify a real problem (something that affects people's lives), and then come up with a solution". HEAR MORE ABOUT JOSH HAYNAM: Josh loved trying to 'figure' things out from a young age. At the age of 8 he built a teeter totter out of old planks and tyres. He also built an entire network of tunnels in his backyard (which was about a quarter acre). At the age of 15 Josh had started his own business installing sprinkler systems. In college, Josh and his co-founder would build websites and sort of started a quiz for a new client, After 'accidentally' creating one, it just grew from there. Josh says it was never his intention to do the quizzes. But, it was also on purpose because he always liked to invent things. With his co-founder (Matt), they started off designing websites and do marketing. A client requested a quiz as an opt-in offer on his website. At the time, nothing existed on the market, so it was all trial and error to get this quiz going. This was around 2012. They noticed with his client's website, it did not convert that well, (only 1%), but with the quiz an astonishing 75%! And so Josh and his partner thought 'why not build something similar for people.' This was an exciting prospect for Josh and he could not wait to get started. There was a lot of trial and errors that ensued. Since the quizzes didn't get the attention of most potential clients, Josh then decided to send out emails on Content Marketing. Josh and his partner were in a Library one day when Josh noticed Rachel Ray signed up as well as The Red Cross. And so the Brand name 'Interact' was also born. FAVOURITE QUOTES TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD "Wisdom for me is understanding how other people feel about things" "Passion for me is when you don't have to set your alarm in the morning."
