Dracula is one of the most enduring characters in the horror genre, and for good reason.  Before him, most monsters were powerful yet not particularly intelligent.  A giant lion is scary, sure, but you can always outsmart it.  Not so with Dracula.  He's not only more powerful than you but smarter as well.  How do you defeat that?  Maybe you don't.  If there's one person that could outsmart Dracula, it's Neil, because he knows everything about him.  He even knows his non-fictional identity.  It's a Rumpelstiltskin kind of thing.  Once you know his name, he can't hurt you any more.  Or I could have just made that up.
