Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung der Kirche St. Georg, damals "St. Jörg", stammt aus dem Jahr 1340. Heute sehen wir sie in ihrer barocken Form, so, wie sie 1735 entstanden ist. Den alten Turm stockte man auf fünf Geschosse auf und setzte ihm eine doppelte Kuppel mit Laterne auf.
