New Bedford School Committee Members-Ross Grace, Jr. & Melissa Ortega Costa

School Committee member Melissa M. Ortega Costa and I had the opportunity to appear on the “Really Charlie”podcast last night. Charlie and I set up discussions each Wednesday after Monday’s monthly School Committee meeting with other members to discuss our roles, our goals, and our aspirations. It’s important for our community to know who they elected and what we’re up to. Melissa and I discussed civic duty; the importance of modeling; adding fresh new eyes and ears to this particular arena; why it’s important that people like us run; and why being involved matters. Melissa went into depth on her role regarding finances and the proposed budget for our schools. We did our best to make it informative and we had a great time. Thank you Charlie and Melissa!
