New teams in F1. Ford and Redbull. NASCAR, Bathurst 12H & More! On the Grid

from Lovecars On the Grid. Global Motorsport Podcast · host With Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman

Welcome to Lovecars On The Grid, where Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us a roundup of motorsport events from the past week!   This week, we have a lot to talk about! From the Deserts of Kuwait to the race tracks of Australia!  We kick off with F1, Red Bull have announced that they will be partnering with Ford for the 2026, in a huge launch in New York. Ford will be alongside 5 other engine manufacturers that have signed up to the 2026 season.  The FIA are also looking for 2 new teams, detailing the steps to join the sport to those interested.   We pay tribute to Jean-Pierre Jabouille, a Formula 1 driver that won races in the 1970s. The French driver sadly lost his life this week and our thoughts are with his family and friends.   The NASCAR season continues this week too, kicking off at the L.A. Coliseum, which was arguably too small a track for the race! The race was won by Toyota's Martin Truex Jr, followed by Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch in 2nd and 3rd place.   The Bathurst 12HR raced took place overnight, with a lot of shunts and even an oil leak in an exciting race. Motorcycle star, Valentino Rossi made his debut into the race, with his team finishing 4th and 6th place. Jules Gounon won the race, with team SunEnergy1 Racing.   The Formula 4 UAE and the Formula Middle East were in Kuwait, where the drivers are as young as 15 years old!   Elsewhere in single seater racing, the Formula Regional Oceana were in New Zealand!   Next weekend, WRC is coming back to Sweden, whilst Formula E is in India, from a brand new circuit!
