New Updates to HIMSS EMRAM (Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model)

If you've worked in the world of EHR and health IT, then you're likely familiar with EMRAM (Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model) which was developed and maintained by HIMSS.  It's their flagship maturity model and if you haven't heard of it, you may have heard a hospital talk about reaching Stage 7 adoption with their EHR.  That's the EMRAM model and one that's been used by many a CIO and healthcare organization to provide a framework for adopting and utilizing an EHR.  There's power in a common goal and EMRAM has provided that.   As you can imagine, we're now at least a decade into most organizations adopting and EHR and a lot has changed and continues to change.  As part of the maturity of EHR adoption at many organizations, it was time for HIMSS to continue to evolve EMRAM and that's just what they announced recently.  The focus of the changes is focused on outcomes including: Operational Outcomes, Patient Safety, and Patient Experience.     Learn more about the HIMSS EMRAM program: https://www.himss.org/what-we-do-solutions/digital-health-transformation/maturity-models/electronic-medical-record-adoption-model-emram  Find more great health IT content: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/
