New York Times journalists on Weinstein exposé and #MeToo; Boulder's new vaping restrictions

from Radio1190 · host KVCU Radio 1190

In 2017, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey broke the Harvey Weinstein exposé, bringing the issue of sexual harassment and assault into the limelight and reinvigorating the #MeToo movement. The New York Times journalists spoke with News Director Lucy Haggard shortly before presenting on campus in support of their new book, "She Said." The book chronicles the reporting process that led to the final article and offers information that has emerged in the past two years or was previously off the record. Then, Brittany Carpenter, community health specialist with Boulder County Public Health, talks with News Correspondent Clara Geoghegan about the public health side of new limitations on vaping in Boulder. As of this September, the city raised the legal age to buy tobacco products to 21 years old and outlawed vaping juices that contain nicotine and are flavored anything other than tobacco. Originally aired October 23, 2019, on Radio 1190 KVCU.
