निगृहीतः कः आसीत् ?

कदाचित् स्वातन्त्र्यान्दोलने कस्यचन उच्चाधिकारिणः मृत्युः सञ्जातः । अनेन रुष्टे सर्वकारेण आन्दोलननेता निगृह्य न्यायालये उपस्थापितः । अयम् आसीत् क्रान्तिकारी ऊधमसिंहः । अस्मिन् सेनाधिकारिणः डायरस्य हननस्य आरोपः अवर्तत । काचित् युवत्याः प्रयासेन एव सः निगृहीतः आसीत् । ऊधमसिंहः जानाति स्म सा का इति । तथापि नार्याम् अस्त्रोत्थापनम् अस्माकं भारतीयसंस्कृतौ नास्ति इति ज्ञातवान् सः तस्यै युवत्यै कोपम् अकृत्वा तां न प्रहृतवान् ।(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)During the freedom movement, the death of a certain high officer occurred. Angered by this, the government arrested the movement’s leader and brought him to court. This was the revolutionary Udham Singh, accused of killing General Dyer. He was captured through the effort of a young woman. Udham Singh knew who she was, yet, understanding that in Indian culture weapons are never raised against women, he did not show anger toward her nor harm her.
