Hello, how are you? Please listen to my story again today. If you want to listen to Japanese at a faster speed, if you want more challenges, please listen to my main podcast, the Japanese with Noriko podcast. It has seasons 1 to 3. Now, today is about Liverpool, England, where I currently live. I want to talk about the surprising things, the first impressions after moving here. So, please listen. Everyone, today, the day I am recording this, is February 2nd, 2024. It's February 2nd. I have been living in Liverpool for a month. It's been about a month since I moved. It's only been a month. My impression of the city of Liverpool is very good. There are many nice cafes, various events, and a good atmosphere. So far, I like Liverpool. But, there have been some troubling and surprising things. I will talk about that. One surprising and troubling thing is that I can't understand the English of the people in Liverpool. The English spoken by Liverpudlians has a strong accent. I lived in Northern Ireland for 16 years. The accent of English spoken by people in Northern Ireland is also very strong. But, I was used to that. After moving, I have to get used to the accent of English spoken by people in Liverpool. It's really troubling. Conversations with cafe staff, conversations with locals in various places, "What? What did you say? I don't understand. Please say it again." I'm asking them to repeat a lot. It's a bit embarrassing. The second surprising thing, and this is a bit more serious, is that there are many homeless people in the city of Liverpool. It's Christmas. It's winter. It was heartbreaking to see homeless people. In Liverpool, there are many homeless people, people with economic problems, drug problems, and various other issues. It's sad. I was surprised. That's all for today. Everyone, I'll talk more about life in Liverpool in the next episode, so look forward to it. See you again."
