Since joining the department in 1993 he has held the positions of Company Captain, Lieutenant, Company President, Department Training Officer, and Department Secretary. Upon his appointment, Jaye became the departments first African American Chief of Department.⠀Jaye has also done extensive training and work with the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management.⠀Jaye was appointed to the Freehold Borough Council in June 2006. Again, Jaye was the first African American to serve on the governing body. Jaye served on the Public Safety and Personnel Committees and was Council President in 2010 and 2016.⠀Jaye is currently employed by The City of Long Branch with the Public Works Department, holding the position of Assistant Public Works Director.⠀Jaye went through the Freehold Borough Schools, attending the Park Avenue Elementary and the Freehold Intermediate School and graduated from Freehold Borough High School in 1993 as Senior Class President. Jaye has a degree in Education from Brookdale Community College and most recently graduated from the Rutgers University Public Works Manager Certification Program.⠀Jaye’s commitment to his community is evident. Jaye has worked hard to make a difference for his hometown.⠀Jaye is happily married to his wife Danielle, they have twin daughters, Mackenzie and Madison. He is the youngest of 4 Siblings, Pamela, Gerri, and Reginald.
