He served as Chief of South Wall Fire Rescue Company, Fire District # 3 in Wall Township, NJ. He was Chief of Department 2012-2018 and in that time was instrumental in developing a Uniform Division and established a Structural Collapse Special Operations Team. John currently serves as Captain in Laurelton Fire Company, Brick Fire District 2 and one of the team leads for the Brick Technical Rescue Team. While working at Wall Township Police in 2015 he was assigned to Monmouth County Emergency Response Team (MOCERT) and received specialized training in Tactical Dispatching. John also worked in Toms River Fire Department as the Communications Supervisor, prior to getting hired with JF Goetz and Associates as a full timeFire Investigator. He is also a Fire & Explosion Investigator dually certified through the International Association of Arson Investigators and the National Association of Fire Investigators. John is a lead instructor with Superior Emergency Response Training and has instructed around the state as well as for NJDFS, Kean University
