NKJV vs. Everybody: Why the New King James may be the BEST English Translation

Is the New King James Version (NKJV) the best English Bible translation available today? In this video, I make the case that it just might be.I love and use multiple Bible translations—including the ESV, KJV, LSB, NASB, and Geneva Bible—but the NKJV has a unique combination of readability, theological precision, textual transparency, historical continuity, and available study resources. In this video, I compare the NKJV vs. KJV, NIV, LSB, ESV, NRSV, NASB, CSB, NLT, and The Message, explaining where I believe the NKJV has significant advantages.Among the topics we cover:• Why the NKJV may be better than the King James Version for modern readability• Why the NKJV preserves more technical theological terminology than translations such as the NIV• The NKJV vs. LSB and the importance of Bible resources and study editions• The NKJV vs. ESV and the differences between the Textus Receptus and modern critical text traditions• Why some New Testament passages appear in the main text of the NKJV but are footnoted in the ESV• The NKJV vs. NRSV and the question of gender-neutral translation• Why I believe the NKJV has the best textual footnotes of any English Bible translation• The NKJV vs. NASB• Why I'm not convinced the CSB offers enough distinctives to justify its place among major English translations• Why the NLT and The Message are too paraphrastic for my preferred approach to Bible translation• The importance of historical continuity in the English Bible translation tradition• Why the NKJV remains an especially useful choice for serious Bible studyImportant: This video isn't an argument for King James Onlyism. I regularly use multiple translations and believe Christians are tremendously blessed to have so many excellent English Bibles available. So, what is the best Bible translation?
