Nolan Wells' Autopsy Couldn't Rule Out THIS

There's a second autopsy in the Nolan Wells case, and it says something the first one didn't: undetermined, with non-accidental factors still on the table. Ben Crump made that finding public at the NAACP National Convention, and it puts the state's original exam under a different kind of scrutiny than officials probably wanted. Nolan was eighteen when a Fourth of July boat trip to Horn Island turned into a search, then a recovery. A park ranger found his body at the island's northwest tip two days after he was last seen. During that first autopsy, the state retained his throat, trachea, hyoid bone, and laryngeal cartilage, structures examined specifically when compression is a concern, and none of what they found has been made public since. Then there's the video. The clip everyone assumed showed Nolan's last recorded moments has a complication nobody saw coming: one of the men who was actually in the water that day says the voice belongs to him, not Nolan, and he told investigators that before he ever said it to a reporter. We walk through what's been released in this case, what's still sealed under Mississippi law, and a specific autopsy-access statute that keeps getting left out of the coverage.
