Nominee Interview Series: The Doll Play Team

Before we announce the winners of the 2019 MyEntWorld Critics’ Pick Awards, we’re proud to present our annual Nominee Interview Series.   As a relatively new reviewer, The Doll Play was a personal highlight of my Toronto theatre experience in 2019. Joanne Sarazen’s work is a deep, thoughtful exploration of power, mental health, and harm that also revels in being lively and witty. The script is daring but demanding, requiring a skilled ensemble to render the relationships at the heart of the play properly.
