Non-Profit Heroes: Rainbows For All Children

Showcased as Sterk Family Law Group's Non-Profit Hero for January 2023, since 1983, Rainbows has supported children experiencing grief of all kinds through facilitated peer groups within their communities. Their services provide assistance for children and teens who may be experiencing grief from a serious illness or death, separation or divorce, incarceration, deportation, or community crises.  Rainbows for All Children trains adult volunteers in community-based sites such as schools, faith-based organizations, libraries or community centers to lead age-specific in-person and virutal support groups for children and teens, ages 3-18, who are grieving from some type of loss. These groups provide a safe environment that encourages communication while identifying, navigating and discussing difficult feelings that accompany loss.
