A meta-analysis of 49 studies reporting on animal-assisted therapy found positive outcomes and overall improved emotional well-being in those with autism, medical conditions, or behavioral issues."  Since 2017, The Legacy Ranch in Lockport, IL has been using horses to provide various forms of Equine-Assisted Therapy and has also incorporated their horses for mental health, occupational, physical and speech therapies in partnership with licensed therapists.  Their therapies include interaction with the horses, which has been scientifically-proven to help heal individuals who have not previously seen success with traditional styles of therapy.
