I interviewed Shenita James because since the age of 7 she has experienced nearly every mental health challenge - neglect as a child, poverty, childhood sexual abuse, rape, molestation, domestic violence as a teen, teen pregnancy - 4 times by 4 different men. She joins me on the couch to talk about her new book, "Not Just Another Pretty Face" and to tell her story. Shenita James was born on April 16, 1980, in Edenton, North Carolina. As a child of poverty and victim of childhood sexual abuse, Shenita experienced even more hopelessness as she became a teenage mother and high school dropout. However, she managed to turn her life around and discover her passion for helping others to overcome life's difficulties. She overcame anxiety and depression and learned how to walk in purpose.
