Today we focus on Matthew 17 and Proverbs 17 For me this shows the Disciples in a situation they never had seen or experiences before. It freaked them out. They were afraid. One of their friends faces just shone like the sun. Think about that a second. Wouldn’t you freak out? Throw on top of it Jesus is hanging out with Moses and Elijah. WOA! Jesus came down and told them to not be afraid. When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus. Wow. They got through it. Jesus told them to not tell what they had seen. Jesus had a plan and a timeline. Later when the disciples cant’ cure a demon possessed boy he gets a little frustrated. “You unbelieving and perverse generation,â€Â Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Then he healed the boy. When the disciples asked why they couldn’t do it, Jesus said they lacked faith. That’s amazing that THEY lacked faith after all the things they had seen. Jesus said, ““Because you have so little faith. Truly (there is that word again) I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.†Proverbs 17 I had a few thing pop out at me. Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out. Whoever loves a quarrel loves sin; whoever builds a high gate invites destruction Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
