It was a shootout in South Bend, but Notre Dame came up just short. Len Clark has more.Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed found tight end Nate Boerkircher for an 11-yard touchdown with 13 seconds left to tie the game, and kicker Randy Bond added the decisive extra point — giving Texas A&M a 41–40 victory. The Irish had taken a late lead on a Jeremiyah Love rushing touchdown with 2:53 remaining, but a bobbled snap on the extra point proved costly.
