Nurses at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital prepared to strike, union says
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
Nurses at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital in North Philadelphia have voted to authorize a strike. It doesn’t mean they’re walking off the job right away, but the union said it is prepared to take action, “not because we want conflict, but because our patients and caregivers deserve better.” The union’s leaders say they have been working without a contract since April. They’re asking for improvements in nurse staffing and security, as well as limits on cuts to benefits and departments. So far, Jefferson Health has not commented on the strike authorization vote.
