In an article called "Non-communicable disease prevention, nutrition and aging" by Manfred Ruthsatz and Vanessa Candeias (2020), they emphasize that "Nutrition plays a decisive role across geographies and societal groups in contributing to human health, strengthening resilience and extending the period of being free from non-communicable diseases (NCD) and increasing the quality of life." So we know that nutrition plays an important role in health, but we often hear that 'Healthy Food' is the key to living a healthier life. Listeners, I don't think I'm alone in saying that some of us do not know what 'Healthy Food' might look like or what it means to 'Eat Healthy'. This weeks episode sets out to provide more clarity on what balance meals should look like. This episode of Bermuda Health-Abets, a podcast where we discuss everything from A to Z on healthy living, is dubbed Nutrition 101: Let’s talk about the Eat Well Plate. #EmpoweringInformingandMotivating Bermuda residents to live well.Our guests this episode are Allison Outerbridge, Public Health Nutritionist and Cymone Hollis, Public Health Nutritionist from Department of Health.
