Ela é Enfermeira pela Universidade Federal Fluminense em 2003, possui Mestrado e Doutorado em Enfermagem com ênfase em insuficiência cardíaca pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Trabalha com pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca desde 2005, atualmente fazendo atendimento ambulatorial e é professora adjunta da Escola de Enfermagem Anna Nery da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
