Είναι γνωστός για τη χρήση του χιούμορ και για τη μαεστρία του στη «σύντομη - σύντομη» φόρμα – ιστορίες από 1 έως 3 σελίδες, συχνά με έξυπνες τεχνικές πλοκής και αιφνιδιαστικά φινάλε. Το χιούμορ και μια κάπως μεταμοντέρνα προοπτική μεταφέρθηκαν και στα μυθιστορήματα του Fredric Brown.
