119 复习hard to pass up 难以错过，难以放弃，不…可惜Clothes on sale are hard to pass up. 衣服打折实在是不买可惜。关于 pass up，这节课还想再讲一下，对我来说，it's hard to pass up "pass up." 很难就这么错过（就这样简单讲完）pass up 这个词组……上节课讲了 pass up 的对象（宾语）可以是东西、人、机会，idea（想法主意）也可以用。宾语成分多是放在动词词组的后面，也有很多词组，像pass up，如果宾语是一个名词或代词，也可以把宾语插在 pass 和 up 的中间。我们来看一个例子，比如说：他们放弃了/错过了/（没有选择）麦克。They passed Mike up.They passed up Mike.* 根据上下文语境，这两句可能是“放弃”，可能是“错过”，或“没有选择”，三种中文解释都有可能。请大家先跟我各读三遍。They passed Mike up.They passed up Mike.升级一下，把“他们”换成“委员会 committee”委员会放弃了/没有选择麦克。The committee passed Mike up.The committee passed up Mike.* 因为出现了“委员会”，可能是有评选或者选举之类的，这里 pass up 的意思范围缩小了一下，应该是“放弃”或“没有选择”。请大家再跟我读一下~The committee passed Mike up.The committee passed up Mike.再升级一下，如果说“委员会没有选择Mike，选择了凯莉（Kelly）。”选择，挑选 choose，过去时 choseThe committee passed Mike up and chose Kelly. * 这句话给出的信息更多，后面有了chose选择，所以知道 pass up 是“没有选择”。请大家再跟我读三遍。The committee passed Mike up and chose Kelly.  下面，猜猜这句话是什么意思。He's never one to pass up a free meal.He's = He isnever 绝不，从来不free 免费的meal 餐，饭He's never one ... 他从来就不是……他从来不是会错过吃免费饭的人。—> 他绝不是会放弃白吃一顿的人。—> 他那种人绝不会放弃白吃一顿的机会。（根据说话人的语气语调，会有不同的翻译）请大家跟我读三遍。He's never one to pass up a free meal.本课小总结：1. 宾语放在动词词组的后面，有的也可以插在动词词组的中间。2. 根据语境的不同，同个单词/词组会有不同的意思。
