1085 wird erstmals eine Schloßkirche erwähnt und ist dem Märtyrer Laurentius geweiht. 1677 sowie 1702 brannte die Schlosskirche ab, der jetzige Sakralbau wurde nach Plänen des Wessobrunner Baumeisters Joseph Schmuzer erbaut und 1762 konsekriert.
