TEMA 1 - LILA : LA VOZ DE LA TIERRA, LAS MUJERES Y LA LUCHA SOCIAL Entrevista - LILA DOWNS Lila Downs (1968), nació en Tlaxiaco, estado de Oaxaca, México, un lugar donde la cultura indígena lucha con seguir viva frente a la poderosa y mimética globalización. Compositora y cantante, obtuvo su licenciatura en canto y antropología en la Universidad de Minnesota (EEUU) y, posteriormente realizó estudios similares en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Oaxaca. Esa dualidad personal, que la ha enriquecido personal y espiritualmente, puede ser consecuencia de su propia genética, que le ha dado una visión del mundo mucho más amplia. Hija de la cantante Anita Sánchez y de Allen Downs, profesor de cinematografía escocés-americano de Minessota, Lila vivió parte de su juventud entre los dos países. Pronto deseó mostrar al mundo la riqueza de su cultura materna y de los diferentes pueblos indígenas mexicanos, como el mixteco, zapoteco, náhuatl o maya. El instrumento a utilizar…, sus diferentes músicas. Y ahí sigue mostrando al mundo los diferentes Méxicos que hay dentro de México. TEMA 2 - LOS CULEBREROS DE CATEMACO, HISTORIA DE LA TIERRA DE LOS CHAMANES Catemaco, México. Los brujos y curanderos de Catemaco (este de México) no llegan a un centenar, pero han marcado la vida del poblado, donde se cree en hechizos con hierbas y limpias por preservar una cultura y como negocio, aunque hay otros que están convencidos de poseer poderes sobrenaturales. La tradición de brujería en Catemaco es herencia de la cultura olmeca, la más antigua de Mesoamérica, en la que los curanderos de la región aliviaban con hierbas medicinales todo tipo de males.
