from Ohio Mysteries · host Evergreen Podcasts

Hello Ohio Mysteries Backroads listeners. Did you ever look up in the sky and see something weird, something you can't explain? In this episode we have 3 stories about unexplained things in the night sky. Our first story explores the efforts of a group of St. Joe High School students from Cleveland, Ohio who figured out a way to listen to and track the Soviet satellite, Sputnik, even before our own military. They then created a device from a slide rule and a globe to assist in their efforts. Their efforts landed the boys on TV stations, newspapers, magazines then a visit by the FBI who promptly confiscated all their recorded tapes. Tune in and find out what happened next! Our next story we look at astronomer Jerry Ehman in 1977 using the Ohio State University Big Ear radio telescope. His volunteer job was to simply examine marks on an endless scroll of paper searching for anomalies, outlying marks indicating signals from out space. These signals may show something or someone trying to make contact us here on earth. On this particular day, in review of the data, the signal was so strong he made a notation "WOW" indicating the unusual signal that he had never seen before. This weird and strong signal was so strange, it caused arguments and discussion that continue to this day. Find out what happened and what people think the signal may or may not be. Our final story is about a mystery. A mystery that may or not exist at all. Its yjr infamous Hangar 18 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Some people think that the aliens that were rumored to have been recovered from a UFO crash at the infamous Roswell, NM crash. Were these alien bodies taken there? Who's allowed there? What really goes on there? Tune in and found out! I'm a teacher, author, nature lover and for ten years I owned a coffeehouse cafe where my faith in the goodness of humans was restored every day. This podcast highlights the awesomeness of humanity - er...outside the warmongers, globalists, tyrants and politicians in general. You know, the rest of us weird, quirky and sometimes hilarious humans. We'll talk woo, probe mysteries and leave you thinking about something more interesting or entertaining or uplifting than your grocery list, or boss or that oil change your car needs. I talk too much because I can't help my Gemini moon and Leo Rising nature. I do a podcast because it's cheaper, funnier and more productive than therapy.  EXPLORE WITH US Explore With Us If you love true crime and mysteries, you will love this podcast!
