On Financial Literacy

from Sòrò sókè · host The Sòrò Sókè thinktank

Financial literacy could be understood as “a person’s minimal knowledge about financial terms such as money, inflation, interest rate, credit and others, but besides this the abilities and skills of that person to use all this information in personal life, being aware of the consequences of it”. Sadly, less than a third of sub-Saharan Africa's population is financially literate – compared to OECD countries where over half the population is. In this episode, we discuss with Hafsah, a financial analyst and educator why this is the case and how we can change the current situation.
