On the Streets: Speaking to the Homeless about Jesus w/ Perry Baugher

Alison and Debi interview Perry Baugher in this episode where they discuss his work of speaking to the homeless about Jesus. Arizona has been facing a large homeless issue, with approximately 10,000 homeless individuals in the metropolitan area. Perry and his team go out every Saturday to build relationships with the homeless, providing them with food and conversation. They use their "red snack bags" as an icebreaker to share the gospel and their testimonies. Their end goal is to change lives and get homeless individuals to the Phoenix Dream Center to start a new journey with Jesus Christ. Perry notes that the three main reasons people end up on the streets are excessive drug use, mental illness, and torn apart families. He also notes that the government cannot be solely responsible for taking care of the homeless, and that personal responsibility is necessary to address this issue. Alison, Debi and Perry emphasize the importance of being salt and light in a decaying culture, and not running from the fire but being willing to step into it.
