Into the Fire: Powered by Dream City Church

In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego stood for truth in a culture, and against a government that was hostile to their values. They were willing to go into the fire if necessary.  God didn't spare them the FROM the furnace but He was with them IN the fire. In today's culture, standing for truth may be challenging. The world around us is hostile to the Word of God and to biblical values. But we are called to be salt and light. (Matthew 5: 13-16) God has placed us at this time in history on purpose and for a purpose.  Join us as we get better equipped to address civics and culture from a biblical worldview.

    ESA Battles w/ Matt Beieinberg

This week, Debi is joined by Matt Beieinberg, Director of Education Policy at Goldwater InstituteMatt and Debi discuss ballot initiatives and the various ways that they end up on your ballot.  Arizona has unique laws related to ballot initiatives which make them nearly impossible to correct or remove. Because of this, far left organizations will spend millions of dollars to get radical initiatives on Arizona ballots and to deceive voters. The rule of thumb for propositions should be to decline to sign these petitions unless groups you trust are promoting them, and to err on the side of voting no if you are uncertain about their effect.Matt and Debi also discuss the state's nationally acclaimed ESA program and the wildly inaccurate and dishonest reporting that has been used to target this popular program. They discuss the current efforts to get an anti-ESA initiative on the ballot that would decimate the program and harm Arizona families. To learn more about Goldwater Institute visit https://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/To learn more about how ESAs help Arizona families and why the program is worth protecting, visit https://azlovesesas.com/To Find out more about Dream City Church visit  https://dreamcitychrch.usPlease follow Into the Fire podcast on your favorite podcast platform, give us a 5-star rating and leave a review

The Charlie Kirk Effect w/ Sloan Adams

This week, Debi is joined by Sloan Adams, Central Senior Strategic Manager of TPUSA FaithDebi and Sloan discuss the faith arm of TPUSA and its work unifying and empowering churches to speak truth in love to culture. They discuss how so many cultural and political issues over the last several years including COVID, BLM, Antifa, men calling themselves women and the overturn of Roe v Wade have impacted churches. Some churches like Dream City have been bold and talked about these issues, others have compromised the truth of the Word of God to accept and even idolize sin, and many more have remained silent, afraid to step into these important conversations.Sloan and Debi also discuss the spiritual awakening that has happened in the wake of Charlie Kirk's very public assassination.  So many are flocking to church, opening Bibles for the first time and giving their lives to Jesus. It is a tool which can be both helpful and destructive.  Krista and Debi discuss a recent study at MIT on the affects of ChatGPT on the brain. The results were shocking.  Adult participants showed a marked decrease in their ability to think, reason and remember after using AI to perform tasks.Krista and Debi also discussed the implications that AI has on education including the ease of having technology think for you, lessened attention spans, limited learning and more.  Finally they discuss the established and documented dangers of screen time on babies and toddlers. While the use of screens can be tempting and have immediate short term benefits of peace and quiet, there are longterm damages to emotional regulation, the ability to form connections and to learn. The Battle for School Choice

This week, Debi and Sam host a solo episode on school choice and the ongoing battle over ESAs in Arizona.Much has been made of a recent news article highlighting supposed fraud in the ESA system. But, Empowerment Scholarship Accounts have long been a target of those who do not like our school choice options in AZ.   Arizona was the first state to offer such accounts, which allow some, not all, of the education dollars to follow the student and be used for homeschooling, tutoring or private school instruction. This enables families who may not be able to afford one of those options to have more control over their children's learning environment. Some politicians and union leaders in our state would love to rescind our school choice friendly laws and leave families with no choice other than public school. Debi and Sam talk about the history of school choice, the misunderstanding of ESAs, including how much information is required to justify purchases.  They also highlight that this supposed huge news story is such a small number of people and that those people are already being asked to repay money that they misused. All of this leads us to believe that this is political maneuvering. Since there is an election year in 2026 we must have wisdom and discernment when reading news stories like this one. To find out more about the misinformation surrounding ESAs visit https://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/arizonas-universal-esa-program-a-history-of-surplus-savings-media-misinformation/To read more about the past battles over ESAs and the Navajo nation go to  https://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/fact-esas-help-native-american-families/To read the misleading news story referenced in this episode go to https://www.abc15.com/rebound/state-of-education/400-esa-accounts-suspended-state-sends-accounts-to-collectionsTo Find out more about Dream City Church https://dreamcitychrch.usPlease follow Into the Fire podcast on your favorite podcast platform, give us a 5-star rating and leave a review

Defunding Big Abortion w/ Mayra Rodriguez

This week, Debi and Sam are joined by Mayra Rodriguez.  Mayra is a former Planned Parenthood trainer and clinic director who is now a national pro-life activist.  Mayra, Debi and Sam discuss taxpayer funding and Planned Parenthood.  Last year, Planned Parenthood received almost 800 million dollars in taxpayer funding, almost 2 million dollars per day.  They discuss why executive orders cannot fully defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion mills. Mayra, Debi and Sam discuss Title X and Medicaid and the ways in which Planned Parenthood abuses the system, takes money from other federally qualified health centers that provide a wider range of services, and often double and triple count services to gain access to more funding. They also discuss why this practice means that their reported percentages of services are not accurate.  For example, they dishonestly claim that abortion only makes up 3% of their services.  There is a current Supreme Court case, Medina v Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, related to state's rights to defund Planned Parenthood through Medicaid and the "Big Beautiful Bill"  passed the US House containing language to defund Planned Parenthood, also through Medicaid.  This episode explains why this type of defunding is critical. To learn more about Mayra visit https://mayrarodriguez.org/en_us/To learn about Planned Parenthood's most recent reported numbers visit https://lozierinstitute.org/fact-sheet-planned-parenthoods-2023-24-annual-report/Planned Parenthood and Medicaid fraud https://adflegal.org/press-release/false-claims-and-fraud-lawsuit-exposes-planned-parenthood-deception/South Carolina Supreme Court case https://adflegal.org/article/deceiving-women-is-what-their-business-is-all-about-former-planned-parenthood-director/https://adflegal.org/case/medina-v-planned-parenthood-south-atlantic/To Find out more about Dream City Church https://dreamcitychurch.usPlease follow Into the Fire podcast on your favorite podcast platform, give us a 5-star rating and leave a review

ABOUT THIS SHOW
