One Nation Overcharged An Answer For High Healthcare With Camille Busette
from Arroe Collins Like It's Live · host Arroe Collins
For millions of Americans, seeing a doctor isn't just a medical decision, it's a financial one. Even with health insurance, high out-of-pocket costs are forcing many to delay care, skip prescriptions, or take on medical debt. Supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, One Nation, Overcharged is a nationwide campaign bringing people together to raise awareness about the growing cost of healthcare and advocate for a system patients can actually afford. Data from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Urban Institute found that nearly half of working-age adults struggled to afford healthcare last year. Analyzing survey data from more than 10,000 adults Researchers say the findings show that healthcare affordability is not just a problem for people without insurance. Regardless of coverage type, millions of people in America struggle with high costs, unmet health needs, and medical debt. Affordability challenges were widespread, but not evenly shared. More than half of Black adults, Hispanic adults, and adults of additional races reported difficulty affording care. Similarly, people living in the South and families in rural areas reported difficulty affording healthcare at higher rates.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.
