Hello and welcome to one on one. We are so pleased that you've chosen Christian programming to be in your homes And we are honored and blessed that you have chosen us But I'm Veronica McLaughlin to come and to break the bread of life with you and bring the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ You this wonderful technology and wherever you're hearing this from We're just thankful that you're letting us share this beautiful Easter time with you and what a beautiful time to celebrate Such a wondrous event. Yes, that's why we are here today He is alive And he is sitting at the right hand of the Father God Almighty making intercession for you and me We serve a risen Savior and going into the season It's so exciting for us and my spirit was really stirred and I kept hearing the Lord speak to me What we're going to talk about today. I am the resurrection and the life.
That's all we need He is the resurrection and the life. That's our promise. That's our future. That's our hope That's what he's already done for us.
He is the resurrection the great I am. Yes, you know And when you hear about how lovingly and and painfully and Sacrificially that promise was made to us when you really hear the Easter message It just resonates in your heart not only in your ears and in your head But in your heart the love that was given the love that our Father has for each of us with our life eternal It does we were broken Jesus came into a broken world to mend us to put us back together He still does that you know what what do we do today with suffering in a broken world and brokenness? Real things that happen to us each and every day. I know something that you say that resonates with me What a difference a day makes I mean we have friends that are fine one day and maybe in the hospital the next or we get a phone call in the middle of the night What happens you know with our suffering in the lives that we're going through today?
Well, Jesus makes the scene What does Jesus had to say about it? That's what I'd say what does Jesus had to say about everything that we're going through what it ever concerns us concerns him And it's very evident even in our brokenness when we're in sorrow when we're in grief when we're in mourning when we get doctors reports When we have children on drugs when we are going through divorce we get that's life It's a life that we're living. But what does Jesus have to say? He says I am I am the resurrection and the life and we see this so clearly when we are reading in the book of john in chapter 11 And we're seeing this whole scenario break forth here from one into 16 We see the very best friends of jesus, you know, jesus has his disciples who he's traveled with for over three years But he has a special place in Bethany that he loves to stay with lasris and mary and martha Well lasris got very sick under death.
So a message was sent to jesus. Please hurry Please get the Bethany lasris is very sick. He's going to die But we need you to be here when jesus heard this it says in verse four This is really the the events as they unfold he said this sickness is not into death But for the glory of god that the son of god may be glorified through it He was prophesying and to the situation This sickness is not into death many times when we get the reports and we've gotten the reports We've gotten three years ago, but he got a report of thyroid cancer And we stood there and I remember standing there in the oncologist office and it like a a cannonball had just been shot through us And I'm like god we're your best friends. We're in ministry We've devoted our lives to you Where are you?
And then the doctor proceeds to show us the cancer screen Or the screen and the cancer cells on the screen and i'm looking at that and up from my spirit I started prophesying over the situation and I looked at dr. Brown and I said those are not buddy mcglaughlin's cancer cells Well, he didn't quite know how to respond to me nor did the nurse who was standing there That's exactly what jesus was doing. He was prophesying into this situation It may look bleak. He may be really sick, but this sickness is not into death It's happened so the son of god may be glorified and we speak to the enemy in any situation that when there is death coming death in a marriage Death in a relationship death to our bodies.
We say no you don't have the last word here God does and god is going to be glorified and buddy This is what we see when this is beginning to unfold You know jesus was was stating the case of look, you know It's only death when I say it's death Because that's what you believe because what the world believes just like with you said with me with the doctor I mean that was what the medical world knew I mean you see the cancer cells, you know, you go and you have the bopsies done and everything agrees with medical science Only it didn't agree with the lord and and I remember that doctor I don't remember but you tell me the story because I wasn't exactly in the world yet I was still there asleep But uh, but he looked at you to tell you that there was no cancer With tears in his eyes and that spoke volumes to me because you know, that's the beautiful revelation of christ It touches our hearts to that degree once we allow ourselves to receive it for what it is That you know, we don't understand it I mean we don't get how it can be different than the way we've always thought it should be when all the evidence shows That it should be a certain way that it's going to be that way You know jesus went to that cross and on that cross, you know, he was he was dead They pronounced it literally put the spirit aside and pronounced him dead Because it was over as the world knew it was over here with Lazarus. It was over You know, even jesus goes on to tell the disciples that Lazarus is dead, but let's go to him And we're going to go there and we're going to go to Lazarus We're going to show the world a different side of the story And that's what calvary does for us on this easter sunday It shows us a totally different side of the story what the world saw as the savior crucified Then buried put behind a stone And put under guard so that no one could get to it But then what happened on the third day On the third day and yes, there is always a third day But jesus had a work to do between that time and the third day He went to hell and brought back the keys of hell death in the grave Looked in the face of the nemesis satan to tell him that he no longer has any dominion Over anything of this world that his days are numbered And that because of him being resurrected because of us celebrating this beautiful beautiful beautiful holiday That we celebrated because we serve the risen sappie who came from that grave was seen by 500 people or more And he today is living and loving on us And yet If we looked at it as the world looked at it. He was tucked away. He was killed was buried Then we said it was all over but jesus came back to show us that it's not all over just as he's doing here With martha and mary and lasarus to show them that hey, I don't get doesn't matter what the world says It's not over because I am the truth the way and the life he is always The I am the way the truth and the life and buddies you so eloquently good it You know as we are seeing this family in this story playing out We see that jesus stays there another two days And he doesn't get there by the time he gets there lasarus is dead so many times we look at god And we're like god your timing is just off.
I don't understand why it has to happen this way Why are you not doing it my way god's ways are not our ways is what i say if 55 He says we go to that scripture and we know that his ways are not our ways his thoughts are not our thoughts They're much higher and we pick up this story and jesus came In verse 17 and he found that he had already been in the tomb for four days Now, Bethany was near jerusol about two miles away and many of the jews had joined the women around mary and martha to comfort them Concerning and comforting their brother then martha as soon as she heard that jesus was coming Went in to tell him but mary was sitting in the house and martha said to jesus and this is where we are today lord If you had only been here, my brother would not have died But I know now that if you ask anything of god your father he will give it to you And he said your brother will rise again Martha said to him, I know he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day She was just trying to make sense of this but jesus was trying to get her off focus of the tomb that was closed And on the empty tomb that was getting ready to take place He was trying to shift her focus and she was having a dialogue with him really talking back to him And she's like well, I know he will you know when the resurrection comes and then that's when jesus says in verse 26 I am you're looking at the one I am the resurrection. I am the life. He who believes in me though. He may die He shall live and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die Do you believe this and she's like yes, lord?
I believe that you are the christ the son of god who has come into the world. That's where we are today He is the resurrection. He is the life. He will speak life into every dead situation that we have He will speak life into your dead marriage.
He'll speak life into your dead body He'll speak life into your dead family your dead children whatever the relationship is he is the life-giver He said I am the resurrection and the life you will never die the good news buddy We're never going to die. We're going to leave eternity somewhere and that's why he was telling her You're going to live forever somewhere and we have a choice today. Where are we going to live? Are we going to live forever in eternity with him?
Are we going to be cast away into hell with satan and his angels? So just the choice is ours. There's only there's no gray area here. There's only two places to go But when we believe as Martha says, I believe that you are the lord.
I believe that you are the christ I believe that you have come to save the world and that's what we are here today Proclaiming we believe that he is jesus christ the messiah our risen savior and the tomb is empty And when he walked over to lasarus's tomb, even though the stone had been there He said roll the stone away and he spoke forth and he said lasarus come forth and lasarith came out of the tomb Why because he is life he speaks life and he's still speaking life into each and every one of us today Yes, I don't know what your situation is I know that this is opening your eyes not only to the to the beauty of this wonderful time that we're speaking of But to what it means to you today what it really means that that you know jesus is going to have it done If you'll just trust him, you know, I carry around to report in my bible That says I had cancer and then I carry around the same report That on the back page the conclusion of the matter I love the way that solomon spoke it He said and the conclusion of the matter is that you should serve god and love god But the conclusion of the matter on this paper says that I do not have cancer The same report the same series of events just like with lasarus the same series of events He died he rose just like jesus. He died and he rose again on the third day There is hope if we just let go of our carnal knowledge and put our trust and their faith in jesus And that's what jesus was doing. He was steering martha to say listen listen to what i'm saying Understand that there is life because I am the truth. I am alive I didn't have that life until I came to know him as my savior.
I had the promise of today That's all I had and that's all we all have even when we know him That's all we have but the wonderful thing is if the promise of today is our last day and we know him Then we're going to go to heaven and we're going to live at the right hand of our lord and their savior We're going to be there worshiping praising with all the loved ones who have gone before us And if we don't know him then this will be our final day And we will get cast into that sea of fire that life was given so that we would not have to suffer for eternity now Put eternity in perspective Eternity is forever and ever and ever It's not the 70 some years that we're promised on this world that we're told we can live some live much less some live Much longer, but that's kind of the average there You know, we're guaranteed that we're going to we're going to be alive for this moment But where we spend eternity that that time that we have between now and forever Have you ever really put that in perspective? We hang on to the fieldness of these few days that we're given on this earth Like it's all we're ever going to have but it's not the joy the the beauty of this beautiful promise that Christ gave us That sacrifice that was made on calvary was so we would have eternity We would have forever to rejoice and to have the celebration of a lifetime the celebration of millions of lifetimes compared to what we know today But we have to receive him we have to accept that he is the truth the way in the life He also says that no one goes to the father except through him That means that you have to receive him in to your heart You have to say it with your lips and believe it in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord And then you'll be received into this kingdom into this promise Lazarus came forth because he believed he believed when he was pronounced dead I believe when I was pronounced with cancer and God changed that He changed it with Lazarus and brought him forth I mean he won't even smell good. He'd been there long enough to dumbing that he wasn't even of the world That the way he looked and appeared was going to be like the rest of the world But he was arisen because of the power of the risen savior That sacrifice that he made on this special time of Easter when we're celebrating on the new clothes the new shoes the Easter eggs the chocolate Easter bunny All the things that are kind of trappings of this time We're celebrating those when really what we need to be celebrating is this awesome gift that was given to each and every one of us And if you haven't received it, I just implore you to ask the Lord to come into your heart Receive him as your Lord and your savior So that you too can have that promise of eternity And if you've kind of forgotten that love that beautiful awesome sacrifice that was made for you If you've lost feel for that that compassion that Christ had when he was hanging on that cross that he was thinking of me He was thinking of you he was thinking of us so that we could have eternity for him And then he said he was going to go and build a place for us to spend eternity with him Well, I'm loving father He came and he pulled Lazarus from the grave raised him up from the grave just as his father raised him up from the grave on that third day Now your father is calling you today on this wonderful Easter time Calling you to come and to enjoy this beautiful promise that was given so sacrificially for each of us It's still our promise and Jesus is still the resurrection and he's still the life He's still the resurrection for a dying creation and that is us And suffering and death is not the end of our story because Jesus Christ that wasn't the end of his story The end of his story is that he rose again So what does Jesus do when he comes on to the scene? He brings life to a dying situation Jesus is our very life source.
He says I am the resurrection and the life what a great promise also He tells us that I am the bread of life in john 635 He also says I am the light of the world in john 812 I am the gate in john 10 7. I am the good shepherd in john 10 11 I am the way in the life in john 14 6 I am the true vine in john 15 1 because Jesus came to earth He lived he bled and he died now that we have hope in the great I am we can look at this and we know that if he's the light of the world in our darkness and every dark situation He comes and he is our light. He is the gate. He says come open enter in.
I am the good shepherd I'm going to take care of you. I am the way in the life There's only one way into heaven. I want to tell you in his name is Jesus Christ There's only one way and the true vine the one who is rooted and grounded the pure one for us He came so that we could live eternally with him forever and ever as Betty and I were talking before these programs We were saying you know life is is just a vapor You know you put a pot on the stove and you see that vapor going up in the air and it's gone You can't even catch it. I mean before you look at it It's almost gone We were talking about our lives and how our girls are grown and how this ministry is grown and how we started out and we're like wow Where has time gone?
How many times do we say that? Where has time gone and it's gone and then here we are and we're saying God where are we going to spend eternity? This life is such a short reflection of what our lives truly are when we are conceived in our mother's womb We will live forever in eternity somewhere and because Jesus Christ said I am the way I am the life I am the resurrection. He is everything that we need and because we put our hope and our faith and our trust in him It's why we can live eternity with him the tomb is empty buddy.
We've been there. We've been in Jerusalem We've been in that empty tomb. We saw where they laid our Jesus But he isn't there isn't that great news the same words that he spoke to Martha Martha was just so distraught and she's like if you had only been here If you're going through a situation like that today and you're saying Jesus Where are you if you could only be here hear those same words that he has downloaded into me this week I am the resurrection in the life. I am everything that you need.
I'm your healer. I'm your deliverer I am your savior. I'm your light of the world even in the darkness. I am everything and when Jesus makes the scene He makes everything okay.
They were mourning. They were crying. They even had professional mourners around the tomb But when Jesus stepped forth and he said lasarans come forth That's exactly what happened in any dead situation that you may have today Jesus is still speaking come forth. I am the life.
I am the resurrection He took the keys of hell and death so that he can't always be our life and always be our resurrection In a glorious thing to know buddy that we don't have to worry about that You know, we've had some very good friends to pass away my best friend jackie has passed away last year I was so heartbroken But I know that she is in the presence of the lord why because he is the resurrection and the life And I know that I will be able to see her again very very soon It's comforting to know that our loved ones that have gone on before that we will see them again because we have that promise The same promise that he gave to Martha that day all we have to do is believe just as she believed She said yes, you are the lord You are the christ the son of god who came into the world and thank you lord for coming into the world Forgiving your life for shedding your blood and for raising on the third day I don't want to tell you there's a third day coming and we're going to see it Yes, and I'm going to pose the question to you to your heart right now Do you believe this the same question that jesus posed? Do you believe this if you don't and you want to all you have to say lord forgive me of my sins for I know i'm a sinner I know you got him across from my sins and you were buried and you rose again on the third day forgive me and making you Welcome in welcome to eternity welcome to your new home Now we encourage you to get into the world and learn about jesus and learn about all that he is And if you're looking right now and you're saying wow, I haven't seen jesus in my situation I just implore you to invite him into that as well Many times he's there and he's knocking and we're just not hearing for the claim of the world Will will quieten those things and and really distort what jesus is trying to speak to us You know as ronica said the lord downloaded that into her this week We want the lord to download into you this week But we ask you to open that door of communication that door of prayer that door of reading his word of sharing time with God's people and loving on each other and allowing that to build in you so you can answer the way that marthete It said yes, lord. I believe that you are the lord Because he came at the special time of the year He was put placed on that cross at calvary. He bled and he died So that we would have eternal life, but he rose he is alive that third day that ronica talked about Is so so relative to you maybe today's your third day when you don't feel that jesus has made the scene just as marthe Felt that it jesus had been there early We all feel that jesus should be there earlier than he is but he's always on time and he's always faithful to us He says he will never leave us never forsake us stick with us closer than a brother Will love us through thick and thin will share our griefs our sorrows our pains Will be there with us through every trial that we have and he says we will have trials but don't be feignhearted But believe in what he brings into your life This very special season Yes, know that you are not alone that you have a risen savior who is there beside of you who loves you who gave his life for you Who is now praying and interceding on your behalf you are not alone Just know that we love you and god loves you and until we see you again this time next week We want you to remember that god is always faithful and happy easter happy easter Hello everyone veronica and i would like to thank you so much for partnering with dovesong ministries through these many years We appreciate your support your love we look forward each week to coming and being a part of your life in your homes Bring you god's word We are so humble to receive your praise reports of salvation of healing and restoration We are excited to take this gospel across the world.
